1 week fast

Once a year I like to do a week water fast, I use electrolytes during it. It helps me to feel restored and rebalanced ahead of the new year. I’m at hour 14 right now, just 154 hours to go 🤪. If anyone is already fasting and wants to comment here, we can keep each other encouraged and electrolyte-aware. UPDATE: Now at 36.5 Hours. So far, so good. No need for electrolytes as yet.

I’ve never water fasted before, only going on juice for however long, but someone mentioning the practice brought it to mind that it’s an ideal time now, since I’m separated from my kids. I’ve not eaten in 47 hours, nearly two days in. Looking on here brought up an electrolyte theme, which I’ve only just ingested, which seemed to trigger mild diarrhea. It’s always something.

Good luck with having a positive experience. I guess you would already know what to expect, and it might be easier repeating it than it had been the first time. I had planned to fast for 4 or 5 days, seeing how it goes after 4, if another seems fine.

I began an extended fast just last night so I’m only about 12 hours in. But I plan to go 5 days. I make electrolyte water that contains magnesium and sodium and lemon juice. I add a potassium supplement in pill form as well. I will likely still take my ACV but probably later in the day. I saw another thread talking about adding psyllium husk to help regulate bowels so I am going to try and choke that down at least once a day. I feel encouraged by your 7 day goal. I previously did a 9 day fast but the longest I’ve done consistently is 5. Depending on how my week goes, I might push through to 7!

Currently at hour 214 of a (hopefully) 30 day fast. Hoping to refeed just in time for Thanksgiving. First time water fasting. Started with headaches from caffeine withdrawal and got diarrhea around day 5. Was drinking one cup of bone broth each day until I realized it was making me hungry, so now I’m on just electrolyte water. I was down ~12 pounds when I weighed this morning (goal is 35). I’ve also been cooking for my wife lol. I made a list of the restaurants I want to go to once I can eat again… I’m already appreciating food more than before.
