100 hours into Fast, feeling conflicted HALP

So I’m 105 hours into an extended fast and feeling very conflicted. I’m 5’7”, 36, no medical issues. Began April 4th with a 4 day fast. SW:333. Followed that with Keto and aimed for OMAD. I had one cheat meal in April (it wasn’t that great, don’t bother). As of today, my CW: 317. I first wanted to try to reach 7 days of fasting (which I intend to complete). Then I decided why not shoot for 2 weeks or beyond. After all, I’m morbidly obese with a lot to lose and not eating seems easier than eating and I feel good. Then I started reading up and some people suggest consecutive 7 days fasts with a day or two of refeeding between them instead or longer fasts. I’m debating the benefits of this. Less risky it seems. But the first few days of the fast are the toughest and do I really want to put myself through that over and over again? I don’t know what I should do.

Answer

try and fast until your are famished. then do 1 meal refeed. Keep it keto so your insulin response stays low and it will be easier to go back into a fast. Then fast again until you are famished. Repeat until you’re at goal weight. It’s a journey and very personal to you. Check out Cole Robinson’s snake juice videos. I find him motivating but be warned he curses and yells a lot. I think adding in electrolytes into my water helps me with the fast. 81 hours into my fast right now and feeling good thanks to snake juice.

I’m in a similar spot. 140 hours in and planning on doing two weeks. I’ve done a lot of fasts but directly prior to this one I kept starting and breaking at 63hours. It was so frustrating that now that I’m feeling good I don’t want to re-start again if possible. The first 2-3 days suck so in my opinion don’t stop if you’re feeling good.

That being said if you feel like you really need to stop listen to your body, do like others suggested, take a break, eat keto and start again. Until I hit my goal I’ve been on and off regularly for months but for me, the longer the fast the better I feel and the better my results. If you’re like me it may take a few shorter fasts until you’re able to handle a longer one but it sounds like you’re doing great!
