I’d say any cascade/fractionated dry fasting you can do is going to be beneficial particularly if the fasts are at least 3 days each. There’s research showing that a 72-hour water fast reboots the entire immune system releasing stem cells. So a 72-hour dry fast would be even more beneficial.
Fragmenting doesn’t work below a certain point. Otherwise, think about it:
If we keep pushing this logics, if you add up all the 5 minute breaks from eating you’ve taken in your life, then you’ve already achieved countless “11 day dry fasts”.
It’s like breaking down a marathon into individual steps. Then you’d have already run many many marathons
Does it mean that walking is bad or useless? No. Not at all. But 42km of fragmented walks is not a marathon.
Absolutely! Any time you allow the body to rest by stopping the digestive process it is going to enter into “repair mode.” The longer and more often you allow your body to do this the better. Everyone is different.. even the 9-11 days won’t work for everyone depending on their preconditions. Stick with some regime and have faith that your body is capable of healing itself!
Thank you all for your input! :)
I have puzzled a schedule that should work considering school/work/special occasions. It goes like this:
(4 days already done between 26/3-30/3)
+ 3 days shortly after, just enough to refuel (5/4-7/4), then three weeks rest to catch up with the rest of my life,
+ 3 days (2/5-4/5), rest a couple of weeks and then the last run for now;
+ 3 OR 6 days from 25/5 depending on if I feel I have gotten used to it well enough to function somewhat during the fast.
So assuming it would not be the end of the world if I have to skip one of the fasts, I would do a total of 10-16 days of dry fasting. It would be a lot easier if I could fast and work at the same time, but I know I can not, sometimes eating is even a part of the job. But I will do my best anyway.
