I just started 23/1 which is essentially OMAD (one meal a day). I don’t necessarily do low carb when I eat, but I will say this is only my third week of following any sort of fasting protocol. And my first week of OMAD!
Here’s what has worked for me:
-I start the day with half-caff black coffee and basically drink that until the pot runs out (splitting the full pot with my husband). Then I make a pot of decaf coffee and sprinkle a little cinnamon in the grounds or mix some flavored decaf grounds in with it. A few times I’ve also driven thru the local coffee shop to get a black decaf coffee or tea, the trip alone makes it feel like a little treat.
-If I get bored of black coffee, I have a variety of LaCroix in the fridge and a ton of flavored tea. I struggle to drink plain water, but I do take some big swigs of water each time I top off my coffee or tea.
-I made and printed out a chart for each day, one line for each hour of the day, so I can plan what I will do to distract myself. For one hour I have a work meeting, another hour I signed myself up for a work-related training, another hour I will run errands. I even plan in my day when I will shower, based on what times in the day I know I will need that distraction! I said in a post yesterday that I will schedule work meetings or appointments later in the day- to be totally preoccupied and unable to eat!
