24 hours

I’m a month into keto and I’ve been doing regular 16:8 fasts. Today I’m attempting 24 hours. I have a history of hypoglycemia so I’m quite nervous, but I want to prove to myself I can do this and heal my crazy blood sugars. A few things: - can I have black coffee? - can I take my iron and folate vitamins? - when does it get easier Thank you!

Answer

Yes, yes and it’s mostly a mental game. Don’t make it about what you’re not getting. Focus on improving your overall health and what the benefits are. And plan your first meal after the fast. Make it something you really like. The light at the end of the tunnel.

And if you’re not getting the benefits and your hypoglycemia is an issue, don’t be ashamed if you have to eat something. Fasting works differently for people. You need to find what works for you and keeps you healthy. Good luck!

Edit: do you need to eat anything with the vitamins? Like for better absorption or if it hurts your stomach?
