250lb - how to lose?

Hi all Im 35yo, 6'2, 250lb I want to get down to 200lb ASAP I am confident in my ability to maintain weight loss once I get there Was considering a 5-7 day dry which I think will take me to 230-235 Then how soon can I do another? Any other ideas? Thanks all

Answer

As someone who’s lost 100lbs and gained it back hearing someone say “I’m confident I’ll stay there” makes me take pause.

It’s harder to develop new habits and stick to them for the rest of your life than it is to fast for a few days a few times.

I hope this doesn’t sound harsh but it’s my first hand experience. I wish you the best of luck but in addition to your fasting endeavor please consider making changes that are sustainable.

Great idea. You can do another one as soon as you want. Just listen to your body. It is possible to do a 12 day dry fast according to Dr Filinov who is the expert in DF.

eg. If you do 7 days dry then cant continue and have to eat something take a day off and then do another set of dry fasting. I recommend once you finish your dry fast to drink coconut water and water. If you want to eat without putting weight back on Watermelon is a great option as it is about 90% water.

Good luck

I do dry fasts occasionally, the longest being 10 days. I lost about 2-2.5lbs a day. I was f/29/230. You can do them as long as your body lets you. You’ll know when it’s time to drink water. If I were to do it again I’d start with a water fast, an epsom salt flush then dry fast, then back to water fasting. When you go back to water fasting start slow, like 8oz of water a day. I would try to force down half my body weight in water after dry fasting and it would come back up. I also would gain all the weight back.
