30 lb in 3 months?

My current weight is 245, I dropped from 260 just by changing my diet however I was not practicing any intermittent fasting or fasting. I've now started integrating intermittent fasting into my daily routine and diet. 16:8 it's what I'm currently practicing and I'm planning a 48 hour water fast on the weekends. During my 8-hour window I only consume about 1200 calories at most, I try to keep it between 1,000 and 1200 so I can stay in a deficit. I currently work two jobs, my second job is to work from home job and my first shift job is a warehouse job. On average I burn about 3,200 calories per day at my warehouse job so by the time I'm done for the day after my 8 hour window I still have about a 900 to 1,000 calorie deficit. I want to keep this going for the next 90 days and I wanted to know whether or not losing 30 lb would be possible?

Answer

Simple calculation (perhaps not entirely accurate, so YMMV): 950 cal/day deficit, or \~6700 cal/week ===>>> @ 3500cal/lb of fat, you should burn a little less than 2lb week. 13 weeks in 3 mo = somewhere around 26lb.

So you’d get close. But it’s a tough putt.

Answer

A 1,000 calorie deficit every day for 90 days would give you a loss of just over 25 pounds. So yeah, it’s possible. One thing that you didn’t mention though is your height or body fat - if you’re 5’6” and weigh 245 it’s going to be easier to keep that level of deficit for a long period than if you are 6’6” and already pretty lean.

Answer

Stop eating and do moderate movement and you should lose 2% body fat per week, at least that’s my experience.

Doesn’t sound like much but it is and if you can start stacking, you’ll see the results.

The key is to stop eating

Answer

Absolutely doable! I lost 17lbs in the last month with fasting and changing my diet alone.

36F, height: 5’8”, SW: 196.8, CW: 180, GW: 135. I started fasting consistently on Feb 4th, 2023. My fasting schedule toggles between rolling 48’s and 72’s. Zero exercise.✌️
