Hi all, I am not clear on fasting duration and overall affects. Hoping someone can provide some insight. I have MS but without symptoms, I mainly fast for weight loss.
Currently I am fasting between Sunday to Wednesday nights for 72h and Wednesday to Friday night for 48h, usually 1 meal on Wednesday . I don’t fast during weekends mainly for social activities.
I enjoy our Wednesday dinners with my spouse - usually fish+wine +salad- and if I skip Wednesday and extend the fast to 120h she will be eating alone for all weekdays. I don’t mind having extra 500-800 calories but I think I can go longer, what am I missing with feeding in between 2 fasts?
Currently I am not using electrolytes except for some salty water time to time, would I need electrolytes for 120h?

The need for electrolytes is different for each person, but on the longer fasts (e.g. 120h) it would be wise have some at least in the middle and be sure to get all the macro and micro nutrients in during the weekends. Key here being listening to how you feel, there’s a list of symptoms what any electrolyte depletion would introduce - in the WIKI.
What you’re missing is basically the rly powerful stuff that fasting comes with and starts after 2/3 days. But it being mainly for weightloss not that much, approximatly 500-800 calories less in deficit ;)
