5 day dry fast?

Hey everyone, I recently did a 48 hour dry fast for the first and i felt amazing after. I want to push myself to do a 5 day fast but I’m not completely sure if it’s a good idea. If anyone has done a 5 day or more dry fast I’d love to hear your what your experience was and how I should prep myself for the fast.

Answer

It was as easy as first 2 days after a couple 2 day dry fasts. First few dry fasts had uncomfortable dry throat so I stopped. After the third attempt I didn’t feel any issues besides being lethargic which I don’t think anyone can really avoid during dry fasts, in fact I only broke it after 5 days cause I was feeling too bored for too long and couldn’t stand it. I could have probably gone 7 days without any discomfort besides lethargy.

I have done many 5 to 7 days soft dry fast. The first time I was fatigued and very thirsty back in March 2020. I weighed 310 at the time, 5’8”. I realized being hydrated, taking enough electrolytes like main ones potassium, sodium, magnesium, and eating low to moderate carb overall were key at least 1 to a few days before going into a dry fast was helpful.

Now I am 230 pounds in at 62 hours today going ultimately for 240 hours or 10 days total. It gets easier over time. In the beginning, I monitored myself with a wrist blood pressure to make sure blood pressure not too low, and pulse rate not too high.

I paid attention to my symptoms like I would get dizzy so took sodium, or fast hearbeat and took potassium for that. I was careful to take time from laying to sitting to standing as sometimes unsteady. Main thing I took what I needed if I needed it and just went right back into fasting immediately. I also was pretty thirst the first couple of fasts but now after full transition, I feel fine. I took pills to powders to liquid electrolytes. I take liquid electrolytes like the Advanced Care version of Pedialyte because it asorbs so quickly if my symptoms need quick relief vs pills.

Go as long as you can, and repeat often until you get to goal.

My longest DF was 5 days. It does get a little boring. The only reason I stopped is bc my mouth got too dry.

I have to talk a lot with my job. If I didn’t talk so much with my job. I could probably go longer.

Answer

I felt weak but it came in waves my energy came back eventually. On the 4th day I woke up with a bad fever like the insides of me were burning but it came to pass too.. over all prepare yourself for extreme uncomfortably because it will be hard lol
