I would set little goals of 10lbs. Focus on one 10lbs at a time, like you focus one one ball at a time during a tennis match. And once you reach the weight where you’re happy with what you see in the mirror, you start maintaining.
We are all different. 10 woman at 5’7 and 150lbs will all look different with curves in different places. You do YOU 👍❤️
I’m 5’7 and I’ve been maintaining being between 130-135lbs now for the last 5 years. At my heaviest I was 180lbs(14 years ago) and at my smallest 125lbs.
I like my weight now the best.
I’ve always had a naturally small waist, so despite being slender I still have an hourglass figure.
It really comes down to your body composition and how you want to look.
The key is to focus on what weight is healthy and how YOU want to look, don’t worry about other people’s opinions.
At every size I’ve been there have been people who complained, lol.
Several people mentioned body composition and this is so important. We all hold our weight differently. I am also 40f 5’6 and hold right around 140. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. So 150 could seem like a good number, but you could look better at 160 just because you have toned up and have less fat. Look at your body… not the scale so much.
I’m 5’6 and my goal weight is 180. I was 180 3 yrs ago (I’m 36 now) and felt that was a comfortable weight for me. This was after loosing 60lbs me at 180 3yrs agoI’ve gained most of the weight back over the last 2 yrs with all these lockdowns, but I’ve been back at it and have lost 20lbs so far.
Been told I should weight 130, but I don’t think I’ve ever weighted that as an adult.
5’7” female here, age 30, have 3 kids. My body was happy at 160ish for a long time then I gained a few pounds here and there, had another baby and never lost the weight. I’m also 210 right now. I’d love to maintain at 150. I was around 140-145 for about a year in college and I really felt confident qt that weight but it was so hard to maintain. Bottom line I’d really love to be between 140-155, BUT if I can get down to that 160-165 range and it’s easy to maintain, I’ll take it. But right now I’m focusing on a few pounds at a time. I’m just now restarting, got some new tools to combat my SAD, and really feel motivated to get healthy. I’m trying not to focus on the number too much.
I think you shouldn’t have a set goal weight. Just an idea, and then start losing and see how you feel. Try goals in smaller doses. I’m honestly taking it a day at a time because if I think too much about it I get overwhelmed and quit.
I’m exactly 5’7”. I feel and look my best at 130-135 lbs, while my lowest was 115. I put on a little more than 20 lbs due to the pandemic a year ago; I was miserable and didn’t fit into any of my old clothes anymore. That’s when I decided that I needed to change and lose the quarantine weight. My weight has fluctuated so many times in my life, but IF has been the best method for losing weight and keeping it off for myself. It’s up to you to decide what’s your best weight and where you’re comfortable at. As long as you feel healthy ☺️
Hi, I’m only 5’3” and always fluctuate between 120 - 130 lbs, but can still tell you that your ideal weight is the one YOU feel comfortable with.Listen to your body and your mind, it’s all about being happy with you. The rest usually comes naturally!
I got to \~160lbs when I first lost weight. I’m 5’7 and a bit.
I really liked that weight. Still had a bit of a tummy - that’s just my body shape though. Still had boobs and a butt lol, but I was comfortable - and that is/was my main aim with weight loss. I was aiming for a tiny bit more (then Covid, gained heaps back, we know how that story goes lol).
Started again and my goal is \~155, but I know that suits my body shape.
PS - work it out in metric, super easy - height in cm less 100 gives a good indication in kg. Using the previous person as an eg, would give around 88-89kg which is 195ish lbs. I think it’s a far easier and possibly realistic guideline than BMI :)
I’m 5’7 and at my thinnest I was 170. Looked great, honestly—healthy. Now I’m considerably larger and have set my goal at 170. Not opposed to losing beyond that goal, but won’t kill myself to get down to that coveted 150.
I’m 5’7, 39 yo. My goal weight is 154 lbs. I started at 227 lbs and after a year of keto and IF I’m at 178. But the real goal is to change my body composition. So if I can lose fat and add muscles, I don’t care about weight. My goal is just to have something to aim for. That will probably change in the future.
I am 40 and 5’7.5” and my ideal weight is 132-135. The way I carry it in my stomach even at 140 doesn’t look or feel great on me and right now I’m over 155. :/ But every body is VERY different and no one can truly compare. 155 might look awesome on someone else my height with a different body type/distribution of muscle and fat.
I’m 5’6F and my lowest adult weight was 145lbs, my highest (not pregnant) is 205lbs and my current goal weight is between 170-180lbs. I carry most of my weight in my hips/thighs/butt, so when I get on the smaller side, but upper half looks too skinny for my liking.
Everyone is different and I would go off the way you feel over what the number on the scale says. I chased a certain number for a long time, and it ended up not being best for me and my body shape!
Not a female and not 5’7”….. but please disregard the BMI charts…. As a 6’2” male it says I should weigh like 180 max…. The chart is not realistic.
If you are goal focused, pick a starting amount of weight to lose…. When you reach this first goal, it may give you an idea if you would still like to lose more, and how much if so. Keep up the effort!!
