I posted this on r/conspiracyNOPOL and got downvoted to oblivion so hopefully more understanding ppl here lol.
8 cups of water a day, or when we’re told to always keep “hydrated”. The more I think about this, the more of conspiracy it seems. I used to drink about 2-3 coffees a day plus a 1.5l of water everyday because I thought it was the healthy thing to do and I was starting out this whole “health” thing. I was more thirstier then too and went to the toilet way too frequently, I weighed about 65kg then, I weigh 71kg rn and sometimes I drink considerably less water.
I can’t say exactly the reason why, I’ll admit sometimes it’s the fact that I’ll drink one of those different flavoured redbulls (mmm) and don’t even feel like drinking much water after lol. But I think the biggest reason for it was after doing a few 24-48 hour dry fasts and reading about them and other dry fasters saying they think people drink too much perhaps as well.
First time I did a dry fast I already had about 10 water fasts averaging 24-48 hours, I remember I was to about 16 hours of the dry fast and it was about 11am in the morning at work (very light physical activity) and all of a sudden I felt weak etc so I quickly broke the fast. Then about 2 years later I attempted i again and couldn’t believe I did 24 hours, I felt fine but I COULDNT WAIT TO FINISH IT AT THE END. It was crazy to know it was 24. But now that’s not a big deal, you realise how your body handles it. Now I haven’t broken a fast due to feeling shit, it’s not even thirst.. It’s most hunger lol.
So it’s like the realisation that damn how can it be bad now if my last glass of water was 6 hours ago and I’m not thirsty? Ofcourse if you are a bit thirsty you should drink but if you can’t, nothing bad will happen lol.
I have to admit sometimes but rarely, in the mornings about 2 hours after drinking coffee I realise I’m pretty tired but then I realise it’s because I haven’t drank water, so ofcourse I’m saying that there can be faults in what I’m saying here.
But the main thing is, you go online and the shit you see like wtf… idk man is it just me? Also, deffo drink some water after drinking the booze! Lol. That’s how I avoid hangovers, I also sometimes lick my hand to pour a bit of salt on it, lick it and wash it down with a decent amount of water. You can realise how dehydrated you were when you drank about 750ml of water and you didn’t wake up at night for a piss😭😭
Haven’t looked much at this at all tbh, but I think it’s possible you might be pissing out more minerals idk, plus our ancestors weren’t drinking that much water I think? First off, the hunter gatherers would’ve tried to preserve it (?) so why would they be forcing themselves water.
I’m just saying the way it’s put out there in the world is like- drink this much. And then the health people will drink that just because they feel they need to. I’ll personally sometimes literally not feel any thirst for many hours, until all of a sudden and then down like 500-750 ml and just move on with my day and keep feeling amazing lol. Oh yeah and just listening to your body, you know..

I think you only need that much water if you are highly processed food all day long. if I eat fruits I don’t get thirsty, if I eat chips or something, I get thirsty. Most people probably feel like they need a ton of water because of what they constantly eat.

There is also this concept of deuterium in water which I honestly don’t understand but there are some videos on youtube regarding necessity of deuterium depletion for health and tap water may be bad for this. Too technical for me. I think our ancestors drank blood but I can’t get access to it in my country.
Looks tasty:

I think water intake should be correlated with your activity levels and sweat output. If you’re in the office all day in AC you definitely don’t need anywhere near 8 cups lol but on the other hand if you’re working outside on a 100 degree day sweating your ass off.. you could very well need much more than 8

Most people do not understand the benefits of an extended dry fast. It repairs your body on the cellular and molecular level. I would explain in further detail but instead I’ll just drop a link. 168 hours is my longest hard dry fast. It’s actually invigorating!!!

When I was desert racing dirt bikes I drank a gallon of water every day at work and probably another half gallon at home/ gym. Constant hydration was key to performing well in a 60 mile race where you are going as fast as you possibly can in the desert heat.
I hardly drink any water now and I remain in ketosis for most of my days as I’ve had several surgeries and put on about 40 pounds, which I’ve lost 20 of in the last 3 weeks. 20 more pounds to cut, my wrist should be healed up in 6 weeks and it’s back to the gym.
Macros are critical to remain satiated in ketosis!
