A real Lent Fast

Is it advisable to do a 40 day fast with just water and electrolytes? I'm 113 kgs and 174 cm tall, I'm frustrated that I am not able to hold a fast for the almost 3 months now... I was used to 48 hour fasts and sometimes even 72 hours, i even went down to double digits for a while before I just stopped I want to change my attitude about food, have any of you faced this before? Can I get some tips as to how to just keep going? I am keen and ready mentally to try a 40 day fast.... I just need help on the preparations that boil down to it Kindly help

Answer

You will find that Lent is longer than 40 days, so dial that in as you see fit. You could fast the full 45 days or, for example, fast on a 6/1 schedule…Six days fasting w/one day of eating, in light of the fact that every Sunday is traditionally a non-fasting day in the liturgical calendar, due to it’s status as a perpetual feast day in rememberance of Christ’s resurection. Commit to eat keto or proximate-to-zero carb on those Sundays and you should be able to slip right back into a water fast with no hiccups, especially the further you get into the extended fast.
