This is exactly what happened to me. I could fast, but it was much, much more difficult. I felt like I constantly thought about food and planned for meals whether I was hungry or not. It’s nice to be able to go through the day without thinking so much about it! (also this post reminded me to take my meds so thanks lol)
I’m happy for you that you are able to start your weight loss journey. You should monitor much closely when, what and how much you are eating if your appetite might be affected by your medication. You can do this! I wish you good luck!
many doctors don’t understand the add brain very well. there are generally two kinds of focus- not really engaged, and the focus flits from here to there constantly, or really engaged, and something is in hyperfocus that’s like a laser. Sounds like you may have had a hyperfocus on food? The meds can create a hyperfocus situation on whatever you’re focused on when they kick in. Sounds like that’s productive for work right now, which can be very good! Most add meds reduce appetite in people with typical brain chemistry, but they don’t affect people with add the same way at all. Many doctors don’t get their head around how people with add can fall right asleep taking something that would keep other people buzzing for a couple days. Pay attention to how you work and find your superpowers!
