Almost done with my first 72 h fasting. YAY!

Just wanted to note my first experince with fasting. I am currently 57 h in on a "water" fast, with two 0 cal(with art. sweetner) energy drinks since I work night shift and coffee makes me nauseas at night. Other than that, I have been sticking to water and a little bit of salt. Please pardon any gramatical errors, english is not my first language. A little background, I am fasting mainly to regain a more healthy relationship with food and the activity of eating. I am an extremly emotional eater, with the results that eating often feels like a stressrelease with little focus on mindfull eating. I wanted to get to know my body and its actual(not my mental) signals of hunger/thirst/weakness. If I also happen to lose a little fat, then that's completly fine with me. It has been very intersting. I started with a couple of days of OMAD with less than 15 g of carbs to "ease " into the fast. These days with food once a day were the only times I felt hunger in physical sense(suction in the stomach and painful rumbling). Don't get me wrong, I really want food, but it feels very much like it is a (very strong) want/craving, not really an urge or a need, if that makes sense. One almost funny physical thing I have noticed is that my mouth water immediatley when I see pictures of food. It feel kind of nice tho, like looking at a picture of a boyfriend you are gong to see soon(I strongly suspect I wouldn't feel that way on a longer fast). I have had no BM during this fast. No stomach ache or anything that I would associate with classic hunger. I got my (late-thankyouforgreattiming) period after the first day which made my selfpity skyrocket, but it didn't act any differently than usual. Felt good to wallow tho. I have had a little head ache, lightheadedness and a feeling that my Hearst is beatibg a little harder(not faster) . But, by far the most anoying thing is that every slight hill(and I live among maaany) feels ridiculously exhausting. I actually stopped to laugh at myself because an old lady passed me halfway up a hill with pity in her eyes. I would be very thankful for any tips that could deminish these issues! I think I picked a good time try it(besides the period-thing), since bf is away and I have been working night shifts which minimizes soical obligations. I highly doubt if I would have fared so well if there had been any real temptation. I guess next time will tell. That was my fasting-novel. YAY!

Congratulations! I’m currently on my first non-OMAD fast. Was going to try for 72 h, but I may eat tonight, as I am feeling quite tired. If I eat at 7, I will have completed 48 hours. I will try again for sure. This was not as bad as I thought it would be (thus far). Love the “pity in her eyes” comment! Good for you!
