Am I eating too late?

I’ve decided to do OMAD. It’s been hard the first few days, but I drink water to help me out. However, I get home from work about 7pm, then I take a couple of hours for myself, then around 9/9:30 I head to the gym. By the time I come back, it’s around 11ish, and that’s when I eat. Then I shower then I head to bed. Is that too late? To eat, then immediately sleep? Or should I move around my schedule? Should I eat before the gym?

Answer

If you’re not having any issues with this schedule, I don’t see a reason to change it. I work out fasted all the time, I find the workouts more effective. Personally, I don’t like working out late. My body is a bit sensitive and I feel it keeps me up too late.

You’re not noting how this makes you feel or anything, or that you’re struggling in any regard. There’s a lot of implications to this routine that might affect others more so than it affects you—you’re an individual, so do what works for you.

Answer

If it works for you then it works for you.

Personally I would want more time awake having food in my stomach. You are essentially spending all your waking time in a fast which I feel would be difficult to deal with. For me being asleep is “free square” of fasting where it literally takes no mental effort to be fasting, and you are using that time being full.

It will also mean more adjustments when it comes to any type of “event” that involves food like family dinners. I try to make sure my eating window includes suppertime since that is the standard “eat with other people” meal. Then if I have to move it an hour in any direction it isn’t too hard. But with your schedule you would have to move it up to 5 hours, and then deal with that extra time the next day pushing you into a 30 hour fast.

Again though, if it works for you, it works for you.

Answer

Ideally noon-8pm, and then slowly curbing it towards noon-4pm,Especially if you don’t have any conflicting schedules… This is like OMAD almost a 4hr window

If you have a schedule you have to figure out what you personally have time for
