Are you thinking about a 16/8 or other daily type of IF, or are we talking prolonged fasts (24+ hours?) Doesn’t seem advisable to try any long fasts at 70+ without medical supervision.
Recently read Valter Longo’s “Longevity Diet.” My one age-related takeaway was that people 65+ need more protein. He sort of runs through how high IGF-1 is not a good biomarker for longevity, and how generally we consume too much protein, but regarding the 65+ demographic, the protein playbook is different.
How is this related to fasting? Longo makes the point that fasting has a boatload of potential health benefits, but the refeed after a fast is critical to really engaging them.
