Anyone in here on citalopram and loosing weight?

I’ve gained almost 20lbs on citalopram but I absolutely cannot go off it. I was already slightly overweight and I seem to keep climbing if I don’t watch my diet. I’d like to not have to cut sweets and other things out of my diet as I also have had an eating disorder and cutting things out causes me binging. Just curious if anyone takes citalopram and has had success with weight loss using IF.

I found out after I stopped taking Citalopram that it had been making me crave alcohol. I found out this is a known side effect, but it’s not in the black box warning. I wound up gaining weight because the alcohol led to mass quantities of junk food. After I discontinued the Citalopram and the Abilify, it still took me a couple years to get back on track. I think my friend might also have had weight gain on Citalopram (not sure, but one of the ADs) but her shrink pooh-pooh’d it saying she must be eating more (friend says she was not). I’ve been on Bupropion (Wellbutrin) for years and have lost weight.
