So I started IF after my doctor suggested it because work full time from 11pm-7am. I usually break my fast after I wake up in the evening, and I stay pretty satisfied throughout the night.
I run into a problem when I want to go to sleep for the day. Hunger is a lot harder to ignore when I'm laying there trying to fall asleep. I drink water to feel full, but I wake up a few hours later needing to use the restroom, and usually have issues going back to sleep after. Sometimes I'll use allergy medicine to fall asleep quickly and stay asleep, but I know that isn't good to do often.
I get so tempted to just eat, as it helps and makes me sleepy after, but I also wake up groggy and bloated in that case. Is there anything that could help, or make me more sleepy rather than hungry? I'm afraid exercise before bed will just make me energized, but I'm open to trying it.
Tldr; I break my fast shortly after I wake up, is there anything to help the hunger before bed?
Answer
I also can’t go to sleep hungry. I’ve tried and I just can’t. I think it’s our bodies saying “Hey go hunt some food”. I eat about 3-4 hours before I go to bed and it works for me. Maybe try shifting your window.
