I want to start omad, but I have never tried any IF or diets and thought if I can do it by just eating less and cutting out sugary stuff, bread, soda etc. I basically only eat once a day anyways for a few years now, but always had the habit to get some sugary foods/drinks or make a sandwich randomly, which I want to stop doing.
I mostly eat rice (with and without vegetables), pasta, meat, potatoes etc, would these work in smaller portions for omad or should I go for a more healthy foods.
Answer
If you haven’t tried IF, ease into not. Not cause I don’t think you can do it, but to let your body get a chance to catch up with the changes.
- start with a 16:8 fasting window if that is doable. Fast for 16 hours, eat within 8. Steadily close this window. Mine is around 4 when I’m not dealing with a ton of stressful shit
- in terms of what you eat, macros with more protein and fats are going to keep you satiated for longer, so cut the rice down and increase meats, nuts, healthy oils.
Your body will see white rice pretty much the same as sugar once it’s broken down enough, so limit it noticeably for a few weeks and see what happens to your energy levels, mood, appetite, etc.
Good luck 💕
