Broke My Fast

I broke my fast after only 3 days of doing 16:8 (it’s my first-ish time). I’m a single mom to a toddler and 6 month old (both amazing) but I feel like I had kids with the wrong person even though I’ve known him my entire life he still treated me like shit (lied and cheated) and tonight I had a little bit too much wine and I turned to comfort food before bed. I wasn’t going to post this but I’m only human and I’ve just been sitting here beating myself up about it BUT FUCK IT. I want to send out a REMINDER to you ALL. We’re all just doing our best. IF YOU DO break your fast just get back on it the next day. Don’t wallow and beat yourself up. You’re human. I’m a little fat because I just had two kids back to back. But I love myself and I love my kids and I will get back to a weight that I feel good about. Don’t forget about why you’re doing this!! DO THIS FOR YOU! DO THIS TO FEEL GOOD! You might slip up every now and then but WHATEVER - you’ll get there. Don’t take shit to seriously. Have fun. Okay. Drunk rant over. YOLO?

Flip the script. Instead of thinking you failed because you broke your routine, think of how you accomplished 3 days in a row successfully. If you can do 3, you can do 4. Think of how prior to this endeavor you would go years without the practice (assumption on my part, but I think you understand what I mean). Therefore, any streak that you do is an accomplishment. Any break from what you’re trying to do is a reminder that you’re learning and gives you motivation to improve upon it next time, if that’s what you want to do.
