Building muscle/cardio while fasting

I struggle to find answers to this, maybe i am not using the correct words in my googling idk. How viable is training when fasting? i'm currently 80 hours in and most guides will tell you to eat a lot of protein for training. So what is a good method? train while the HGH is high and then break fast with protein, which some guides suggest? or just train and keep fasting? Any tips on this would be welcome

>How viable is training when fasting?

It depends on what you’re trying to do.

As far as building muscle, it depends on how trained you are already and how much fat you have on you.

As far as maintaining muscle, it’s highly recommended.

As far as training strength and movement patterns, works just as well as unfasted. (I’m talking about the component of strength that comes from the nervous system, obviously mass is a part of strength too).

>So what is a good method?

Really depends on what you’re trying to do.

>Train while the HGH is high and then break fast with protein, which some guides suggest?

Sure that’s probably fine.

>or just train and keep fasting?

That’s fine too.

Personally I do not coordinate my fasting and my workouts. I workout on the same days every week and switch up fasting schedules. I find working out fasted to be better, but I don’t track whether I’m gaining muscle mass.

I did raise my deadlift 150 pounds (355 to 505) while doing rolling 48s and losing 80lbs, over the course of about 3 months, though. So I do think strength gain can happen while fasting. I’m a casual lifter and don’t have a ton of experience. I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner because I’ve trained off and on a lot but I’ve never been really consistent with it until now.
