Calories don’t matter: level of insulin spikes do. Eating same calories of a sweet vs an egg is not equivalent as the the former spikes insulin levels disproportionately and insulin is a fat storing hormone. Refined carbs spike insulin in a bad way and the addiction to them needs to be given up through methods like dry fasting and keto.
I bounce up and down from week to week, and even month to month, but over the long run I continue to become leaner and stronger. I’ve been upset getting to a new low weight and then jumping back up 10 lbs over the next few weeks to find out I haven’t increased in size though, my new smaller pants and shirts still fit me. There’s a lot of stuff going on in the body, and we don’t always know what this week’s plans are. My body is healing and repairing too, not just losing fat.
