You’re still growing - instead you should focus on improving your eating habits so that you can get control over your weight and health before you really screw your body up.

Focus on filling up on healthy rich foods like meat and eggs. Avoid sugars, high fructose corn syrup, packaged foods, vegetable and canola oils, and bread. Limit carbs within reason. I’m not saying go on a crazy fad or crash diet, but make some better choices. Avoid the cake and the donut and go for the ribs instead (minus the sauce).

In addition, you can fast intermittently. By that, I mean skip breakfast and eat your first meal at lunch. Your body will adapt to this pretty quickly. Get up an hour before you usually do, and go for a short walk. Or do some bodyweight exercises or yoga - get yourself moving in any way you can.
it is probably a bad idea, and if you want to do so is better to be under medical supervision. you can drop weight in other ways that dont involve a risk since you are in a developing age. i really think you should try excersice and intermitent fasting, and change some eating habits, try to talk to your parents since probably a lot of you eating habits come from them, or what your mother or fathers cooks, etc. and be persistent, you would make it in the long run, i used to by really over weight at your age, it sucks, but you can make a change, see your habits, normally that what make us fat in the first place. Dont forget to be strong and you ill be all right, i send you love from here :D
Since you are so young, you are still growing, literally. Your bones are still forming and getting longer and more dense, your brain is developing, and much more. If you want to take on fasting, do shorter fasts, such as using intermittent fasting. But for long fasts, please consult a physician.
As someone who developed bulimia by dieting and fasting at your age, I would ask you to reconsider ❤️ it’s something that severely and negatively impacted my life for years!
Not only did I gain back any weight I would lose, but I would gain more.
Your brain and body’s survival instincts are very strong at this age- they will undermine you over-restricting/fasting every time.
If you struggle with binge eating, the book “Brain over Binge” has helped me tremendously!
I’m not a doctor, so take this with a grain of salt: the best thing you can do for your health right now is to not restrict any food group- eat what you love, but cut down on portion sizes; drink water; try new vegetables to see what you like; and start by taking short walks or biking.
I think everyone else has already commented on the physical health, but another note: there is a strong social stigma associated with fasting. The last thing you want to do is worry your parents and friends or have a peer report you to the guidance counselor for not eating lunch. You may know what you’re doing, obviously have researched it, and know you are not a healthy weight, but when a 14 year old stops eating flags will be raised regardless of how you try to explain. You could inadvertently create a very stressful and emotional situation for yourself.
I wouldn’t risk it. Instead jump straight to the eating healthy and exercise part! I would recommend the Keto way eating, if you’re interested in fat loss, specifically. It’s similar to a strict LCHF which forces your body to take energy from your fat stores instead of from the carbs you eat during the day. Good luck! :)
I know it seems like fasting is the best way to go, but 14 is a little young. I know it’s probably not what you want to hear, but just work on eating less and eating healthier, and exercising. You’re still young and should be able to make good progress without fasting, and I know you want to lose it as fast as you can but I really wouldn’t fast if I were you.
I am not saying yes, but chances are you will give it a shot anyways. Maybe try multiple 24 hour fasts spread throughout a month? Like once a week? It would give you 16 hours for the liver glycogen to burn off (less if you work out), and approximately 8 to actually burn a significant amount of fat.
If i was 14 and knew about it I’d try it, although I’d say consult a doctor because I dont want to be responsible for anything that happens to you, if not water fasting, try intermittent fasting and keto, fasting supposedly increases HGH so I don’t think it would stunt your growth, probably improve it at best. But again, consult a professional first.
