I started a 16/8 schedule without strict calorie counting (just slightly smaller portions, fewer snacks/sweets) and renewing my exercise schedule with the intention that this is my normal.
I did a strict calorie counting diet last year which worked for a while but I couldn’t maintain the counting and it fell apart. The IF schedule with a bit more eating discipline is much more doable for me.
I am currently loosing about 1 lb a week - which is ok by me as I can maintain that. That may not be as aggressive as what some people want. Each person needs to find what works for them long term.
