To be honest,
I work in this space. I read his papers and work, bought his book and came to the conclusion years later that he is kind of a fraud. While he has made signficant contributions to the field and is correct on some things, he also says a lot of random crap that doesn’t make a lot of sense or is just stright up fradulent (not difference of opinion) just to stay relevant and or feel famous. A lot of scientist are nerds growing up and want to be accepted by society for their years of devotion to a subject. I don’t think its about the money.
His stuff with resveratrol is an obvious example. I think he designed his trial to get the results he wanted (meaning resveratrol works as an anti aging compound, which is half-true at best given a generous interpretation of the data and his methods).Subsequently, after he convinced everyone that it would extend your life Glaxo paid him $720 million for the rights to his research. Unfortunately, this isn’t uncommon in science as true breakthroughs in understanding are rare and fraud is common.

Is cantalupe good for you? Sure. Are you going to live to 100 if you eat it? IDK maybe yes maybe no.
Anyways here is the complete nutrient profile on caunteloupe.

You can check its phytochemical profile online too if you want. I don’t think its particularly the best fruit but I could be wrong.
PS: I am thankful for him because he is one of the people that got me interested in this kind of research and has put out some really useful information.
My guess is because cantaloupe gives you a very good dose of whole food vitamin C. Would I pick that as my most nutritious fruit? Not really, the rest is mostly water. As he did mention, different fruits have different compounds and rich colours (red blue and purple) indicate that antioxidants are present. But vitamin C or antioxidants are certainly not the only benefits to be gained from fruit. I’d pick blueberries, blackberries, papaya, passionfruit, and pomegranate as most nutritious. Rich in a number of beneficial antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds.
