Hi! Can anybody give me an idea how long to wait before having espresso after dry fasting?
I’m going right back into a water fast and I really need energy to catch up on all my housework from laying around dry fasting.
Pretty sure I’ve read that you can drink normally after a few hours. Maybe then?
I’ll be having Starbucks iced americano (espresso and water) since I’ve read that dark roasted beans hurt your stomach much less than regular instant coffee.

“ It's about chemicals and processing:
French roast, and other dark-roasted coffee may be easier on the tummy because these roasts contain a substance that tells the stomach to reduce production of acid.
That substance is N-methylpyridium (NMP), and
Since NMP is generated only upon roasting and not found in raw coffee beans, darker-roasted coffees contain higher amounts of this stomach-friendly coffee ingredient. Dark- roasted coffee can potentially contain up to twice as much of the ingredient as light-roasted coffees, but its levels can vary widely depending on the variety of coffee bean and the roasting method, Somoza noted.

I’ve generally found espresso to be much easier on my head and stomach when compared to coffee, especially while water fasting.
Also: I’ve read posts where people actually experiment with a tiny bit of coffee and/or caffeine pills while dry fasting! (Unsure if that’s still dry lol but they give an interesting explanation.)
I guess my point is that it can’t really be that bad for you after dry fasting if these guys do it during!
Thoughts? Experiences?
Anything at all is helpful! Cheers (with an empty glasses of course) LOL

Have you had a negative effect before with coffee on empty stomach? If not then I wouldn’t sweat it - if you’re concerned you could always restart with a cold brew as that is gentler.
As I still work during fast days, I have had a half espresso - it’s hardly an amount to deem a dry fast as ruined.

Personally, I would use a good B Complex and maybe some SAM-E. The two will give you energy and the SAM E helps improve liver function as an added bonus. In my experience, caffeine is pretty dirty (hold your downvotes). It requires metabolizing and screws with your adenosine receptors.
