That’s been my experience as well and I’ve used fasting ketosis regimens for over 30 years. I also wonder if there are other accelerated fat busting mechanisms at work when in fasting ketosis, like autolyzing tissue for water. And certain workouts tend to cause massive spillages of ketones, as evidence by a ketostick, I’m thinking particularly of big LISS workouts. Back in the 70’s there was this group of fasters who would do a week long water fasts while hiking up and down mountains with a 30-40 lbs pack. I don’t remember their exact weight/fat loss stats, but I remember it being well over 30 lbs./week for men. (Of course, initial surfeit loss has to be figured in. It would’ve been fascinating if we could’ve seen what happened in a second week of such a regime.) Cheers and thanks for an interesting post!
