Crio Bru breaking my fast?

Has anyone else tried this? It's cacao beans roasted like coffee and you make it like coffee. I thought it'd be great to help me in the morning when I have to wake up early. The energy release isn't caffeine so I don't get jittery. But I did just notice that there's 20 calories, 2 grams of fiber per serving. I know for most people any calories breaks a fast, but I was reading that less than 50 calories won't break the fast. Does anyone know more about this? If I have to stop drinking it during my fast, that's fine. It's only been a couple days. I just wanted to see if anyone had any more knowledge. A simple Google search comes up with a lot of mixed info.

Answer

I’ve always heard anything above 20-25 breaks a fast. However, lots of people do a “dirty” fast. If it works for you, and you’re still hitting whatever your goals are, don’t stress too much about whether you’re in a fasted state or not. If you’re finding that you’re plateauing, you might see if cutting it out helps get you back on track.

If you’re concerned about caffeine, why not try half-caff? That’s what I do if I have an empty stomach.
