Critique me (am I doing this right)

Background (22 Male), 5 feet 10 inches. For past 3 years ever since I began University, my weight went up like crazy until it reached 250 pounds. Ordered a lot of doordash since December 2021 (pizza's, junk food, cold drinks etc etc). Cancelled doordash a week ago :). Seeing that 250 pound mark finally made me crack, and I'm starting to look at weight loss. For the past week, I've been fasting for around 14 hours. It's been fluctuating between one meal to two meals a day, along with some fruits, nuts & coconut water. My weight is down 9 pounds (to 241 pounds). I feel a lot better (even though its been a week). I used to feel a lot more depressed, and have a lot more brain fog but now its like I've had a small, but noticeable shift in me. I'm thinking of doing a 16:8 fasting method for the next 3-4 months of my school term. I have just got a rotimatic (which is a robot roti maker and makes roti's so much easier to cook). Also, Since I'm a terrible cook, I'm thinking of having an easy to make diet. \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So I'm looking at having 2 meals in a 8 hours interval. These would include: Meal 1) whole wheat roti's + high protein greek yogurt. Fruits like apples, bananas, oranges in between. Meal 2) 4-5 egg whites with maybe salt & pepper. Lots of nuts like walnuts, almonds etc, along with raisins. In the 8 hours, I can take some coconut water since I love drinks. Oh also, I also can take unsweetened almond and cashew milk. During the 16 hr interval drink lots of water. I want to replicate this exact diet over and over again, since I dont trust my cooking. Exercise is a maybe.

Your body burns about 2,887 calories a day (check an online TDEE calculator).

My quick guess is you’re planning on eating maybe 1,000 calories a day, half of them carbs.

Sooooo, that’s not going to go too well for you. Are you able to get food on campus? Chicken breast and salad? Or are you vegetarian? If so, plan on a lot more eggs.

Your body needs (according to the TDEE calculator) about 180-240 g/ protein a day in a cutting/losing phase. That’s 30-40 eggs a day.

Can anyone else chime in on his eating plan? Weekdays a college student with limited cooking skills to do?

There’s a few things I recommend changing about your diet. Whole-wheat roti sounds good but try to get other whole grains in it as well like bajra, oat, etc., it’ll keep you feeling full longer with low GI. Like the other commenter said the fruits you listed are the worst possible ones for you! Stick to berries if you want, high fibre with low GI. And last you got to ditch that badam and caju milk, it is the absolute worst for weight loss!
