I did it. I broke through my month-long plateau with my first 72h fast for the month.
I only beat my lowest weight since starting IF by 0.7kg which isn’t much, plus it’ll probably go back up after my refeed. But seeing the scale move has given me the boost I needed to stay on track. Plan is to do at least one 72h fast a week to lose the last 2kg. The last ones are always the hardest.
2 hours into a 36 hour fast (7PM - 7AM). I will have a cup of black coffee in the morning, but that’s it. I’ve done quite a few these before, but not for a few years. Doing it mostly for the challenge.
I always found the toughest part was getting a good night’s sleep on the 2nd night. Any tips for that?
Day 3 of 20:4
And I’ve been walking 20 to 30 min every day.
Really had the pangs/cravings late last night but didn’t succumb to them.
I’m not eating anything until about 2:30pm.
The scale did its first little minor move down this morning. On keto diets, I am used to movement of a pound or more every day.
Fasting for now seems to be slower in terms of pounds lost each day, but we’re going to stick it out for a month to see what happens. Looking forward to some of the other fasting benefits to come along.
Started an 18:6 weekdays only fast last week. (Eat from 12-6 so lunch and dinner)
I lost 80 lbs in 2021 not doing IF, but recently gained 10 lbs back (6’2, 200lbs) gonna see if IF can get me to 190 or lower.
Just curious. Will only doing 18:6 on weekdays be enough? Or do I have to incorporate weekends as well?
Starting day 3 of my 16/8. Recently realized I’d gained 13 lbs in the last year, not counting the muscle I’ve lost and fat I’ve replaced it with since I injured my knees and had to stop lifting while doing physical therapy, and I’m re-approaching my highest weight.
low carb (20-30) and low cal (1200-1500) in 8 hour eating window.
I have to break my fast a half hour early today because I have a presentation at my breakfast time. But oh well.
