Type of fast is water, peppermint tea, and a little smoking (less than 1 in a day). I try for 16:8 but I usually go longer, like 18 hours or more like 20 hours yesterday. I’ve been at this for about a week. I don’t know if fasting is causing me to sleep more but I keep going beyond my 16 hour fast because I have woken up so late. I’ve been really uncomfortably hungry during the evening, usually after fasting for 6 or 7 hours. Then I drink peppermint tea.
When I woke up today I didn’t feel good at all. I had fasted about 20 hours and I ached all over and my muscles felt fatigued. I’m probably not eating enough during my eating window although I eat pretty normally, so idk. IF results in me cutting out the meal and snacks I would normally have in the evening. Maybe I’m doing too much too soon? I’m trying to decide if I should give myself a break day today or go for it again.
I’ve gained about 40 lb since turning 50 last year and starting menopause. All my clothes are a size 4-6 but I’m a 10-12 right now and I am completely sick of feeling fat. The weight is mostly in my stomach area and it makes me sick. I want my shape back and I want to fit into my clothes again. I am determined to do this.
35lb lost as of mid October, 6lb left until I’m not considered obese anymore which will be a first for me in a decade.
30M-6.2 SW:274 CW:239 GW:194. Mostly OMAD these days, tried 48h fast for the first time this week and it was way easier than I thought. Water only during fasts. A bit of Beat Saber as exercise, it’s the only home activity that I’ve been motivated enough to actually do, until I can go hiking again that is :)
20:4, Water/Coffee/Tea Fast. Eating window’s 4-8 PM.
Jumping right back into it after sick week feels great. I’m happy to say I don’t feel hungry as long as I get a bigger dose of protein in over anything else. Last night’s calories came to 1200 with no exercise and part of that came from two different protein drinks with low sugar (no creatine either! sneaky sneaky).
I’m happy to say the balance is higher protein , lower side carbs to stay full for the next day and I include a water booster powder that has a dose of sodium in it that helps me retain the water and keeps me not hungry. Chuggin’ along
Today I fasted for 18 hours! My first 18 hour fast but really out of circumstances like buying food late, waking up late. Didn’t feel that good the whole day but I already wasn’t so generally today was fine. I only drink tea, water and lemon water during my fast and I’ve finally went under 144 lbs after staying at 145 to 146 for really long.
Still going strong with my 18/6. Today is day three with no meal time insulin (day 16 of IF). Right now, 90 minutes after dinner my BS is 135 and that is the HIGHEST it has been all day.
Doctor wants to go for a week and if they stay low he will start looking at lower my daily Lantus dose.
