14:10 fasting

Day 1 of 2nd Attempt

So I’ve been here before and I’ve done intermittent fasting, with some decent results. But just before Christmas, I lost my job. First time I’ve ever been unemployed or not left a job of my own will. Anxiety spiraled out of control along with my eating habits, skin treatments, sleep patterns, any type of self care. Hard to give a crap about yourself when you feel like a loser.

As I’m starting to get in-person interviews, I look in the mirror and realize I have to start taking care of myself again. That includes fasting for 14 hours and eating more filling, healthier foods. Work my way back into intermittent fasting slowly. And I thought maybe if I post here, I can track my health (physical and mental). My goal is to lose weight, curb my bad eating habits and feel good about myself.

Wish me luck on the job hunt and fasting attempt 2.

Answer

Starting week 2 of 15:9. Looking to build on weight loss.

What’s helped? Meal planning. I spend the last half hour of my fast cooking breakfast, or making coffee. This keeps me from snacking (not going to eat uncooked oatmeal). I’m also being more cognizant of what makes me feel full. And I stopped buying snacks on the way back from dropping kids off. Cost saving and calorie saving!

What I’m most proud of? This week has had a lot of emotional stress for me, but I still kept to the fast. I didn’t crash at night and snacked away.
