Around 10lbs down since starting in early January. I decided to try on a sweatshirt my wife bought me 2 years ago that didn’t fit at the time. It’s been hanging in my closet for years, reminding me.
Today, it fit!
Currently doing a 20:4 water fast, have about 2.5 hours to go until my eating window.
I am mainly trying IF to lose weight for my overall health. I suspect I have insulin resistance but have not been formally diagnosed with it. I’ve lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks by just changing when I eat. I haven’t counted calories or changed the types of foods I’m eating either.
I started out doing 16:8 for the first two weeks, but started doing 20:4 this past week because I realized I wasn’t hungry at my normal lunchtime. So I pushed through until I got home from work and have been doing 20:4 for the past few days.
Other than the weight loss, I have also observed that I feel extremely focused while fasting (especially at work), I don’t feel restricted at all with my food choices, my GERD-like symptoms have decreased, and the absolute best part is I’ve had no migraine attacks since starting.
For most of my adult life, I’ve had debilitating migraines 1-2x a month. I always thought I could not skip meals when I am prone to migraines, but it turns out I have been just fine so far. I feel great!
