Answer

Howdy y’all - fasting mainly to solidify a calorie deficit and help my body heal itself. I’m currently at 32 hours, I’ve been doing 16:8 just about every day but pretty much always wind up going to 20… I want to shoot for longer fasts, like 48 hours, so I can maybe see some fat loss happening. Proud of myself already today though, had a birthday party to attend and I stayed in my fasted state. Tough to do, but the euphoria of fasting feels better than a rush of carbs and sugar!

Answer

I restarted my fasts again, now that I have a new weighing scale and a couple of Apps to monitor it all. I have been doing 13:11 the last 3 days.

Today, I have noticed I have been feeling hungry between lunch and dinner, even though it is my eating period.

Answer

I have been having success with an eating window from 11 am to 6 pm since January 1, but to change things up in February, I decided to not eat on Tuesdays. I go from Monday night at 6 or 7 to Wednesday around mid-day. I do 42 hours because 42 is my favorite number. The first one went smoothly, and the second one I got a little tired. Just have to really drink the water.

I’m currently on 16:8 and doing it to lose weight. Last night I stopped eating around 1.5 hours before my eating window ended, and I also feel that I didn’t eat enough, so I got hungry last night and still feel the pangs this morning. It’ll be around a 17.5 hour fast which is longer than I typically do. I just started last week so it’s still very new to me but a major milestone is that I can no le have black coffee (I got used to the taste) which helps with suppressing hunger.

Answer

37 hours in to my first ever 48 hour fast. Water, black coffee, and plain tea only.

I’ve worked my way up for the last 4-5 weeks from fasting 16 hours, 18 hours, 24, 32, 36, and now 48! My main goal is fat loss, but as I strengthen my fasting “muscle” I want to gain the benefits of autophagy as well. I have psoriasis and I’ve heard there’s some evidence that extended fasts can help reduce that type of inflammation, too.

If this 48 hour fast goes well, and I feel good during / after, I may try the “gold standard fast for fat loss” of 3x42. Would love to hear from anyone that went from traditional OMAD to 3x42 and if it really had that much of an impact on their ability to lose weight.

Answer

I’m fasting food from 11 am to 5 am tomorrow. That’s 18 hours. I’m hoping to drop some weight so I can be more active and lean. It’s fine so far. No hunger right now. I’m drinking water and just doing my work. Insight: Electrolytes. People regularly say that a fast of less than a day requires no electrolyte supplementation. For me, I disagree. I’m taking in some Morton’s light salt with potassium and sodium and taking a magnesium supplement. With that, I feel good. I think I might have been at a suboptimal level of electrolytes for years based on how it improves my energy.
