Dirty water fast (including Espresso and diet sodas)

Hour 14 of 16 hour fast, feeling super hungry 😔

I love fasting, and I always try to stick to 16:8 schedule, althiugh I’ve been pretty relaxed with it since moving to another country. I’ve gained almost 10 pounds since my lowest weight, and I ate so much sugar during the holidays. I’m hoping to reset my body and get back into keto as well. Maybe I can get some extra inspiration from this Subreddit, and maybe I’ll even try a 20:4 fast as well!

I’m a huge night time snacker, so as it is right now I eat from 4 pm to midnight. I think a lot of my poor choices happen as the time gets later, so I think I better cut myself off sometime before bed.

Getting started, something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. Starting off with I guess what is a dirty fast combined with one keto meal per day.

One iced coffee with heavy cream (no sweetener for obvious reasons) between 7am and 5pm, usually takes me about 4 hours to finish the coffee. Eat my meal at 5 pm then nothing until coffee the next morning. Water and 0cal pop for cravings. Exercise most days. I felt like I hit a wall with diet and exercise for my weight loss goal, so hoping this helps supplement <3 Goal is to drop back down to a normal weight for my size, ~15-20lb drop.

Today went well for me. I’m back at OMAD and today was day 8, I only drink water, black coffee and seltzer in my fasting window. Yesterday I had a rough day and grazed in my fasting window and then it snowballed and I went quite a lot over my calorie limit for the day so I’m happy I was able to get back at it today without a problem.

I had a lot of success with OMAD before and was able to lose 30 pounds over a the timespan of about 5 months, I maintained that for about 6 months (still mostly OMAD, just increased my calories to maintain instead of lose) until spring of last year when I just kind of stopped everything; OMAD, calorie counting, exercising, everything. No big surprise I regained the 30 pounds I lost and an additional 15 to boot. I haven’t been able to pinpoint exactly why it all unraveled but for the time being, I’m just feeling good to be back at it and to see the scale going in the right direction again.

Ultimately I’d like to lose 45 pounds to get back to the weight I was before and I’d like to lose an additional 10 on top of that. I don’t have a specific time frame that I expect to do this in, but I know I can accomplish it within 2022!

First day ever for me. Trying it out to see how I feel. Feeling really motivated with the start of the year and turning 30 in April. Just finished reading Atomic Habits by James Clear and trying to make votes for myself toward a healthier lifestyle. Starting with 16:8 but still keeping my iced coffee with milk and torani syrup until I feel really to transition to black coffee. SW: 207.2Goal: show myself I can do what I say I’m going to do and make small changes to be healthier.

On day 2 of 18:6. I started going back to work today and am typically a night owl who eats late, so fasting through this morning was very easy. I’ve been ordering dinner meal kits for my family so it’s very motivating to look forward to a good meal! We had rosemary porkchops with roasted veggies.

My goals is to lose 35 pounds. The hardest part so far is I’m craving snacks post dinner but I know after 2-3 days those cravings will eventually subside.

Answer

Been doing not so great for these past few days , somewhere in the 14 hour range. Tightening my belt from tonight onwards straight up going for 18 today and going to start leaning into 18:6 this week and no slacking.

Answer

Water fast with keto.

Day 3. I tried 16:8, but honestly I think 15:9 is going to be my jam. I’m starved by 10am, which is my typical breakfast time, but if I had to stop eating at 6pm, the nighttime snack cravings would be my downfall. I’m OK starting the fast at 7pm though.

I guess it’s my body telling me what’s best for me. Anyone else doing 15:9? How’s it working?

Answer

Dirty water fast - coffee + oat milk (< 30 cals), zero calorie electrolyte water enhancer or lime juice added to water (0 cals). Was going to do 16:8 and 5:2 but its 6 pm and I am honestly not hungry, so might just wait until tomorrow to eat.

SW: 296.6 lbs … Will update weight tomorrow morning.

Answer

28 hrs into a 72hrs fast, feeling not as hungry as previous attempts.

Im drinking water and plain black tea. Took some sugar free and alcohol free dextromethorphan for a persistent dry cough.

Not sure why I’m not feeling as hungry, might be because i took diet soda on previous tries. Too many variables though, we’ll see how it goes.
