Officially 2 months in (started Jan 1). Feel really good. I was surprised how easy 16:8 was so after 2 days went to 18:6 minimum. Drinking tons of water. When I start to feel hungry I drink a bunch of water and 10 minutes later I’m not hungry anymore. I added apple cider vinegar and potassium a few days ago and it seems to have helped me sleep throughout the night better (could be placebo effect tbh).

I am so grateful for the subreddit. The knowledge and support is top notch. Thanks everyone who posts inspiring stories and photos and answers questions. You have helped me to feel better about my health (mentally and physically). I am surprised how good I feel mentally now that I am not eating every two hours. You all rock!

I wish you all success in whatever your goals may be!

Adf day 16 (fasting day) ~10hrs into my fast

Whew I wayy overdid it yesterday. You’d think IF would give you some more willpower but apparently it doesn’t lmao. Overate by like 2k calories yesterday. Almost want to do a 2 day fast to even it out but probably won’t cause I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole of “punishing” myself for eating. So ig I’ll just keep going like normal and stay home this weekend instead of eating out.

15 hours in to a 42 hour fast, today is a fasting day. Yesterday was the first time in this new 3x42 protocol where I had my 2 PM - 8 PM eating window and it seriously felt like such a treat since I was doing 23:1 OMAD for so long!

I got full pretty quickly, too. I anticipated 1 small meal, 1 snack, a proper dinner, and maybe a “dessert” in that 6 hour window. I had my 1 small meal and didn’t get hungry again until dinner. After dinner, I didn’t feel any need for a sweet treat- so I actually closed my eating window 30 minutes early!

Promised myself I would follow this schedule for at least 10 days before weighing in and determining whether or not to stick with it… so weigh-in day is a week away.

OMAD FOR 23-26 hrs per day depending on how the day works out schedule wise. Been going for 11 days now. Started woth broth as needed for hunger pangs and black tea consistently. Dropped broth Saturday so just now green tea. Down from 238 to 224, losing water weight and maybe a bit of fat. Started as a type 1 diabetic to address pretty bad insulin resistance…..has worked beyond my wildest dreams. Have cut insulin use via pump more than 50%, and insulin effectiveness is back ina. Big way. A bit tired but just going to bed earlier and getting better sleep. Still working on how to schedule weight training but so far 👍👍👍

I feel extra disciplined today because I went out to lunch with some work of my work buddies (one of them being my husband), and still stuck to my 20:4 window. All of them are very supportive of my choice, but I can’t deny that it’s tough to sit at a table filled with food that smells amazing and only sip water for 1.5 hours. My waiter refilled my cup 3 or 4 times. I just broke my fast with a protein shake, and I’m looking forward to a hearty bowl of chicken tortilla soup that my husband and I are having this evening.
