Struggling a bit today. Scale didn’t move this morning and actually went up slightly. I know weight fluctuates daily and everything and I shouldn’t check daily and yada yada but can’t help it. I’m used to quick results with OMAD and it’s tough when it doesn’t happen one day.

One of those days today where half way through the fast, I could eat, but I’m not and I’m pushing through it until the feeding window. Some days it feels more difficult than others…

I messed up today and binged like 2,000 calories over my goal. I was in so much pain from a chronic illness I have and wasn’t even able to go outside. So I felt so depressed and ate McDonald’s.

But I brush off the dust and move on. Of the 7 days, I was successful on 5. That’s pretty good odds if I can keep it up.

2MAD and OMAD with occasional longer fasts

42F/5’8”, SW: 195 lbs (88.5 kg), CW: 168.8 lbs (76.6 kg), GW: 145 lbs (65.8 kg)

After a higher carb weekend away, where I was not in control of the menu, my weight has ticked back up. It could also be due to muscles taking in extra water after an intense workout yesterday morning. I’m determined not to worry about it.

All the extra carbs sent my hunger signals soaring, so the last couple of days have been tough. I’m optimistic that today will be better.

Yoga is coming up this morning, followed by a busy day of school and errands.

I still haven’t figured out whether I’m better off eating before I go to campus, or fasting until I get home. I have been doing 2MAD almost every day lately, and need to change it up at some point.

Week 6 - losing weight

Not much news here. Can’t figure out what I’m going to eat to break my fast.
Weight goes down and that makes me happy because I’ve found something that works for me. I’m not hungry anymore during fasting and because I can eat quit a bit during my two meals I don’t have much cravings. I even survived my period.

Then slowly making changes instead of starting cold turkey. Hour 35 of my very first 36hr water fast!

Finally decided to try it in order to break a weeks long plateau. I’ve been doing mostly 16:8, I’ve done a few OMADs and up to 22hrs before.

It’s going surprisingly well! I suppose it helps that I’m off work this week so I don’t have to worry about anything else. I feel pretty great actually.

Tuesday morning I weighed in at 156.1, this morning 152.4.

Kind of contemplating if I should just keep going but I don’t want to overdo it on my first longer fast.

Just started my second month of IF. First month, I did 16/8. I’m dealing with some really difficult personal stuff right now and had two weekend trips, so there were a few days where I only fasted for 12 hours or didn’t fast at all. I lost four pounds which is awesome. I’ll take it. It is better than nothing, right? I’ve learned that it is really easy to fast when I’m alone and focused on work. It is very hard to fast when people around me are stuffing their faces. I learned that coffee with a pinch of salt is absolutely necessary for me to make it through my fast period. I suspect that the salt does something to make me feel better. I also learned that I literally cannot dirty fast without feeling hungry. I’m bumping my fast up to 17/7 for the month of September. Maybe I’ll lose another four or five lbs.

I’m trying to get back to where I was. Mid 2020 I accidentally started intermittent fasting. My job changed a bit and my meeting schedule meant I was not eating in the morning. I started dropping weight and wasn’t sure why. Finally figured out what it was. Embraced it and started eating healthier and exercising more. After 9 months I went from 260 to 196. Shortly after we had one of our kids their side and child move in. That slowly eroded my schedule and I got lazy and put 32 lbs back on in a year.

Well I’m back at it and down a few pounds after the first ten days. Good luck to all on your journey to improved health!

Type of fast - Water; tea and coffeeLength of fast - 18 hours Context of fast- I’m almost 16 hours into my fast. I’m not feeling hungry but I am thirsty. I’m slowly getting used to abstaining from foods for longer periods. I also am not eating much anymore. E.g. Yesterday I broke my fast with toasted pork luncheon sandwhiches and a cup of Milo and for dinner I ate 4 spoonfuls of noodles and then I was full. I am hoping to increase my fast to 20 hours after I do 18/6 for one month.
