Answer

New here. First day, and trying with a gentle start of 14 hours. Then 16:8. Hoping for weightloss, increased energy and less arthritis inflammation and brainfog post covid infection. It’s a difficult start. Headache and oh so hungry 😕. Water and tea.

Answer

Hi! Kind of new to this. I’m doing one meal a day and I’m on day three! My window is about an hour/hour and a half. I’m trying to lose about 15 pounds so from 131 to 116. Is this sustainable? I’m a 5’2 female and 21 years old.

Answer

Water/coffee only.

I’m on my first day of 16:8, probably starting out with a few days a week and see how I feel. Not sure if IF is totally right for me because I do tend to get shaky/sweaty in the mornings before eating, but I’m also struggling with bloating and just feeling like my stomach is overloaded with eating all day. I’m looking to lose some weight (5’7 170 lbs, maybe down to 155 or so) but mostly I want to make sure I don’t grow out of my current wardrobe! I had a baby last year and after stopping breastfeeding I’ve been putting on the pounds.

I’m hungry, but okay. 2 hours left.

Answer

I’m 16 hours into my fast, I’m trying to do 36 hours for the first time. I’m trying to lose some of the 8 pounds I gained during Christmas break, as well as the other fasting benefits. I’m doing a water fast… Thoughts?

Answer

Type: dirty fast

Context: 16:8

Length: one hour left

Why?: weightloss SW: 230 CW: 229 GW: 150

Notes: day 5 of 16:8… I am down one pound on the scale! I am excited to see if I can dip more. Also going to try and transition to black coffee. I already am starting to dislike the splenda sweetness. Idk if I can give up creamer though. But right now I replaced my (daily… 🙃) soda with bubly! And its actually satisfying!

Answer

20:4 on day 4, doing well so far.

CW/SW: 225 GW: 175

My plan is to switch to 16:8 once I hit the one-hundreds, but currently I’m really not finding 20:4 all that difficult. I’m eating around 1,650 calories from 6pm - 10pm and fasting otherwise–just water and black coffee.

I’m honestly shocked that I’m not feeling more hungry fasting for 20 hours every day. Should I maybe cut down calorie intake a bit, or is this normal to start?

Answer

Hey everyone! I’m on day 1 here of my journey and was wondering a bit about the green tea restriction during the fasting period. Any reason why I wouldn’t be able to drink yerba mate, black tea, or an herbal chai without sugar? I have plenty of green tea and love green tea, just wondering if anyone has any insight into what the limits may be there. Thanks all!

Answer

I’m 20:4 here but that usually turns into 21:3 or 22:2 (I don’t think those are things. It just happens). I drink black coffee and LOTS of water all day. I workout at least two hours per day. I’m starting a new job tomorrow with wacky hours that I’d really like to post about but apparently I don’t have enough karma points 😔

EDIT: Goal: try to lean out a bit while maintaining muscle mass. Be healthier.

Answer

Hi everyone! Third day maintaining 18:6, drinking only water, tea and coffee with nothing added to it. Let’s see if I can lose some weight and feel overall healthier. So far it’s going pretty well, the last two hours of the fasting are the hardest ones! :P

Answer

I am doing a water/tea 20:4 intermittent fast. Today I am trying to focus on the fact that I know I will “feel better” after I eat, but I’m still dealing with the hunger after 16 hours of the fast. I’m starting to wonder if this “4 hour hunger sensation” I’ve been experiencing every day, will ever go away.

Answer

Hi all. 5’9” Male, SW: 182, CW: 176, GW: 168. I’m on Day 9 doing anywhere between 16:8 and 18:6 depending on how I feel. Only water and black coffee. Then in between I do what’s called the “No Duh Diet” where I just stay away from dessert, fried, and fatty foods. Occasional dedicated excersize and try to hit 7500 steps a day regardless. This system works for me. GL all!

Answer

OMAD. 23 hrs +. I almost buckled at 18 hrs. Stress bad, today. I have had black tea, two Coke Zero and some water. Almost -12lbs since Jan 1, not too bad, I guess? Long way to go but one day at a time.

M 6’1 39yo SW:268, CW:257, GW:>2001 week 18/6 Water, black coffee1 small meal to break fast, snack(nuts, fruit or yogurt)and nice dinner.Usual weight is around 245 tried a few times before never got lower than 229. Always hit a wall, looking to break through that wall this time!

Answer

Even after just a 20 calories Red Bull — at 3 carbs — it triggers my lust for some kind of sugary carb rich food. Got to stay with coffee first thing… at least most of the time. Red Bull is more my occasional crack.

Answer

OMAD.

22 hrs.

I have a strong Anericano in the AM with two tbsp Laird superfood creamer unsweetened then don’t eat or drink anything but water/sparkling water til dinner. I don’t care if having coffee w Laird isn’t true fasting. I live for it.

Hoping to lose about 20 lbs and gain muscle tone. Really want to end my emotional eating habits that I developed during the pandemic.

I love it. I don’t even wanna eat during the day. I feel calm and focused. I’m concerned this could lead to disordered eating and chronic calorie restriction because I have a hard time getting all my calories in. I usually am totally satisfied with a small meal and light snack. I like the control I am having over food, maybe a little too much. But I am also prioritizing losing excess weight and becoming metabolically healthy then reassessing.

It’s also really curbed my alcohol cravings.

Answer

New to fasting!
Rolling 48 water fasts, on my 3rd day. I’m down 3.1 pounds and I don’t feel too bad.
I’m fasting for weight loss and overall improved health. Height 5 foot 3/163cm (ish), SW: 107kg, GW: 55kg,
I started on my period (which probably wasn’t smart) but my biggest complaint so far is some heartburn after I ate my first meal.
