I weigh myself too much (daily) so I find the numbers are very up and down. If I report on a weekly basis,
12-18 Feb: 1kg lost
19-25 Feb: another 1kg lost
26-04 Mar: another 1kg lost
5-11 Mar: Stayed the same
I haven’t been fasting the 14hrs this last week. 1kg each time feels very slow but I plan to adjust to 15:9 soon.
Type of fast (15:9)
Context of fast (Month 4 - started 1/12/22)
Length of fast (15 hours)
Why? What you hope to accomplish with your fast (stop gaining weight, reduce blood cholesterol, lose some weight)
Notes How is it going. I lost 0 kg in 2.5 months and 3.5 kg in 3 weeks (85 to 81.5 kg). Blood cholestrol is down and I do not need medication. (was borderline at previous blood test). Weight loss was very slow for 3 months and in Month 4 I have started losing on the same diet:
Black coffee for breakfast. Morning meal at about 10 am cereal yogurt nuts low fat milk. Lunch at about 2 pm salad (lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, beetroot, small amount of protein such as chicken, cheese or beans), Dinner 6:30 pm small piece of fish or meat, vegies, cake or alcohol.
The main thing I can think of why I have started to lose weight is that I stopped having a cooked chicken leg at lunchtime and replaced with some beans and cheese. I also started having a tiny breakfast 2 days per week. Like 1 piece of toast with butter and Vegemite or small portion of baked beans and 3 cooked mushrooms.
Will keep going, but I’m excited to finally see a weight drop after 3 months. 55+ female.
I did it! I stuck with it yesterday! I planned out my meals and even said no when my dood offered me a ice cream sandwich (he wasn’t being mean, just asking if I wanted one)! It was just a bit after I closed my eating window. I think I have decided that my fasting time will be from 8pm-Noon. This works well with my schedule and his (he only eats once a day for dinner). Yesterday I had a salad to break my fast and then a snack. Then a light dinner. Tracked all my calories and drank a crap ton of water!
Today I will repeat the process and weigh myself tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone has a great day and sticks with it! If not, then there’s always tomorrow! Good luck everyone!
Doing 14:10/16:8 depending on the day. Currently on my second day, 10 hours in and i woke up 4 hours earlier than i’m suppose to, feeling that gnawing ouchie hunger. I’m actually fairly comfortable with continuing the fast, mostly just mad that i’ve lost sleep that i really need. I think i ate too little yesterday which is contributing to my waking up early super hungry, plus the carby spaghetti+zucchini dinner i had that’s not helping.
I’ve got about a half hour left of my 16:8, but lately I’ve been pushing it closer to 17:7ish. Day 63 or something, idk. Having my morning black coffee now, will break fast with some almonds and perhaps a protein shake a bit after that. I plan out my meals about a week ahead using MyFitnessPal, and that gives me a sense of control and keeps me from straying because I don’t wanna screw up my macros lol. Not much else to report, mainly just commenting to stay accountable.
Have a great one, all!
Yesterday was my 3rd day on IF 16/8
Out of curiousity I measured my Ketones . 7:24 am it was 0.2 but then at 10.48 am it was 0.5. This morning about 8 something ( I forgot to log it dang it ) , I was at 0.3. From what I read 0.5 is when it starts to become beneficial.
Oh and I started walking this last weekend and geeze do I feel it. I use to be able to walk at 2.8 - 3.0 mph for 30+ minutes and not hurt but it’s obvious how out of shape I am. My 23 minute walk at just 2.0 mph left me so achy and sore last night and I couldn’t sleep so I had to get up and take an ibuprofen.
The more I’m on IF the more I am convinced that it will help me especially since I’m kind of logging food to help restrict calories.
I’m doing OMAD. I’m in a fasting state anywhere from 18-30ish hours depending on if my last meal was lunch or dinner (I never do breakfast as my one meal a day!). Yesterday I started week 16. I am down from 188 to 163, so 25 pounds lost. I think that’s a good rate of weight loss so I’m happy. I still want to lose 30 more pounds and then reassess where I’m at. I’m 5’2, many years ago (in my 20’s) I weighed in the 130’s and thought I was so fat but looking back at the age of 37, I looked good at that weight. So I’ve still got a ways to go but I’m confident I will get there because OMAD works for me. I don’t get hungry (except when it’s close to my meal time), I don’t crave things anymore (very weird! I’ll see a cake or something and think “that looks good!” but have no desire for any of it. I am very interested in food and love watching the Food Network but it’s more out of a sense of appreciating food if that makes sense), and I feel like I am in control.
