Day 45, F49. 16:8, sometimes 17:7, usually 7 pm to 11 am. Water and black coffee or black tea during my fast. Still miss my cream. Low carb diet. I’m feeling great though! Appetite is correcting more and more. I cut my fasting window short last weekend for the first time to eat with guests. Got back on track the next day.

I intend to loose weight slowly. 11 lbs so far. Initially started it for health reasons, but now focus on weight-loss, too. Initially, I didn’t have a target date in mind, but now I think it would be great to enter my 50s with normal weight… 27 lbs more to go!

My personal milestones so far: not obese anymore, reached onederland, and recently dropped my BMI under 29.

I’ve been doing 16:8, then moved to 18:6. Then that was going so well I did OMAD for a week.

Now I’m doing a 36 on Monday and Friday, with a refeed Tuesday and Saturday via 16:8. Then on to 20:4 for the next day (or two if it’s Thursday). Figured I’ll stick with this pattern for a couple weeks to see what happens. Down 11 pounds so far in a little over a month.

Day 4 of 5 day diy fasting mimicking protocol (low protein, vegan calories at 500 for my size). Goal is gut health and reset, autophagy Don’t feel amazing yet (but better today than yesterday) but also the hunger in day 4 is no worse than on day 1. Down 2 lbs which is less than a lot of people experience but I’ll take it (mostly water I’m sure) May give a true 24 hour water fast a try next , alternating with my usual 16:8. The biggest issue for me was psychological but getting past that barrier and realizing hunger doesn’t just increase exponentially (at least not at this length) makes it seems more doable.

Answer

Day four of 16:8. Lost 1 pound but ate too damn much yesterday. Doing pretty well overall at limiting my calories and drinking more water, but I might need to adjust my eating window to either later or earlier.

Day 1 of 16:8. My husband and I plan to do 11am to 7pm.

Background: My twins were born 11/27. During a twin pregnancy, you’re expected to eat at least an extra 600 calories a day with lots of carbs and protein. I’m having trouble going back to the portions I ate before pregnancy because I love food; it’s delicious. Since their birth, I have gained almost 10 lbs which puts me at 201 this morning. This is 26 lbs higher than my weight before pregnancy. With 3 month old twins and a 3 year old I do not have the mental space to track calories/adhere to a specific food list. Hoping that IF alone will reduce my calories enough to get things under control.

Day 2 of 16:8, I’ve been in this sub for years, aware of how effective IF is, and finally decided to make the change. Currently, 20 pounds over my average weight, it’s pretty much Pandemic stress / depression eating that got me here. I have been eating keto since 2014, but I fell off of it somewhat during the last 2 years, but not too badly. I’m finding that black coffee isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and drinking coffee without cream in the mornings was the biggest barrier to IF for me in the past. I’m fasting from 8pm to Noon. Also I brush my teeth at 8 and put my Invisalign retainer in which helps to curb the late night snacking. Wish me luck!

How do y’all get enough calories in? This is my second week of 18:6, a couple 20:4’s and a few cheat days when I’m working 16 hour shifts and need the energy, but I feel like I’m frantically trying to eat more calories within my window even when I’m not hungry. It’s hard for me to eat more than 1,000 in this window and some days it’s probably lower than that. I woke up today was happy to see that I’ve lost three pounds, but I feel so weak in my limbs and my thoughts are so obsessive that it’s distracting throughout the day.

Are there any super meals that I’m missing? I eat pretty healthy, a lot of fruit and vegetables and plant based meat substitutes. I’d love any advice you guys could give me. I like exercising the mental discipline but it’s leaving my body feeling weak.

For reference I’m 5’1 and 124 pounds. I just wanted to go back down to 120 or 115 and maintain from there, and I liked the initial energy and good feeling that I had from the first few fasts.
