Day4 of Week19, IF, 18/6
SW: 104kg/229lbs; CW: 89kg/196lbs; GW: 85kg/187lbs
Maintained 90.0kg from yesterday despite another schedule change resulting with having only some leftover beans and soup as meal options. Beans being heavy on carbs I expected a major upswing, but it seems this time things balanced out.
Finally entering the 48h fast, so now at least for a while I don’t have to plan meals and watch the schedule. This is the ticket for a productive day :P
Sleep was better, but today is windy and so every damn pollen is in the air. I’ll be forced to limit being in contact with outside air even more.
Just the walk from car to office resulted with endless sneezing that is only subsiding now an hour later.
Turning the corner toward Friday, folk! Let’s make it a productive day! ;)
Day 4 of week 1 (Second time around, have done IF before with results)18/6 Water/Tea/Coffee fast
Already feeling better and less bloated, just like I expected and just like I felt last time around. Have been actively biking & walking every day (as exercise and to/from work). Started this week at a whopping 88kg/195lbs but lost a lot of water weight, so down to 86kg/189lbs.Have been trying to start off easy on myself as to not fall back in old patterns of emotional eating, currently working out for me.
Hoping to reach 75kg/165lbs on my 30th birthday in January and so far it seems very achievable.
Type: Water and coffee
Context: Started augustus 30th, trying to see how this works.
Length: 16:8
Why: Weight loss
Notes: might have been a bit longer of a fast, ate dinner at about 7, was hungry before sleep amd hungry now. Coffee with salt helps with that feeling, now going to cycle to work, see how that goes without breakfast
PS: I might need to punch an extra hole in my belt, had been getting a bit loose already but is getting too loose now xD
Update: cycling went well, bit dizzy for a small bit after I got off and needed to pick something off the ground, so probably low blood pressure, but seems fine again after a couple minutes
Ohh I typed out this whole post and my phone lost it.
Anyway yesterday turned into OMAD after surprise dinner but I accept that. Been doing gym every day this week and walking, see how that fares with weight change this weekend.
Even if there’s no loss I feel having worked my limbs and muscles!! I read it’s even more important to stay active than lose weight so even if I’ve been dodging my ADF schedule slightly I’m still doing IF regularly.
I can feel good about progress.
Today is high protein low carb day wirh calorie counts. Tomorrow a water fast. Then vacation!
Happy Thursday!
Started work at 4am, plan to see if I can go until 3pm, possibly 4 if I feel up to it. OT is only open until the 9th so…want to get in where I can.
Means my meals are probably not going to be as helth as they should be, but with doing omad it should be OK if I do some take out here and there. And still try and get the better options, of course.
Type: Water and coffee
Context: Day 7
Length: 18:6
Why: Weight loss
Notes: Easier than I expected, though I do feel hungry around 16-17 hrs. It helps that its easy to understand and will save quite a bit on grocery bills lol. I’m keeping a food diary and a little concerned I’m not eating enough (1000-1200 calories, I’m a 5’9” 266 pound male). I eat until I’m full during the eating window, but maybe I need to shove some vegetables or nuts in there or take a multivitamin to make sure I’m getting nutrients. I guess I really was a heavy night-time snacker.
I’ve fallen off the wagon in the last month and have gained back about 7 pounds (5’3” and every ounce shows!). Decided to start fresh in September with a 40 hour fast, from 8pm Wednesday to noon Friday. Tracking my water intake. I think I want to start doing a 24 hour fast from Sunday night to Monday night each week as a sort of weekly reset, then continue rest of the week with my normal 16:8 schedule.
IF newbie here! Years ago I lost 30 lbs with CICO, slowly and sustainably. For whatever reason I can’t get it together these days. I’m inconsistent. The second I fall off I gain.
I’m hoping IF can serve as a nice mental reset and make me more mindful of the quality of my meals rather than the quantity of my calories. Not going to lie I do have some reservations about it—I think it can be dangerous for folks prone to ED. But I’ve never had a problem with that personally so I’m going to give it an honest go.
My goals are to lose 30-40 lbs (again) and get off the processed junk train for good. Outside of snacking, I have a pretty good diet! I’m a fruit and veggie loving pescatarian. There’s literally no reason I should be eating or feeling this way.
Just broke my first 16 hour fast. Not bad at all!
I am currently doing a 18 hours water/tea fast. I’m currently 14 hours into my fast. I do feel a bit hungry but I’m persevering on. I have noticed tho that when I consume protein shakes (protein powder and milk) I have stomach ache.
Is it better to break the fast with fast carbs or to start it?
Basically, I have some granola cereal, which is pretty sweet, 20grams ofsugar per 100g.
I am not sure, should I eat it the when I break my fastor right before I start it?
Week 3, Day 3.
Slacked a little on exercise, but we’re going on a hike on Sunday with my brother and his wife. Hope that’ll kick me back into the swing, it’s been a very busy week emotionally.
Weigh-in last Saturday morning showed 165lbs, loss of fat (1%) and an increase in muscle mass (1%). No idea what tomorrow will look like. Been tired during the last few hours of a fast, looking at electrolytes to add to water, might get stock in Powerade at this rate—maybe switching from gummy vitamins at lunch (which I use as a dessert) to zero-cal supplements when I wake up. Probably not, though, I don’t want to deprive myself of little joys.
I don’t feel like I’m getting enough protein, so I’m thinking about incorporating a whey protein shake during lunch. Any advice on the best way to do that? We have so much powder, can’t do liquid meals—it messes with my head.
That won’t really be a problem tomorrow—friends are bringing over air fried kielbasa wrapped in bacon. I am SO excited, since Saturdays are when I refuse to care about CICO.
It would probably be better for me to eat when I first wake up, but my partner and I really value mealtime together. We’re social eaters and cooking is a bonding activity.
I’m noticing more nuance in teas and coffees, drinking them black. It’s neat.
