I’m brand new with IF, just 5 days in on 14:10, (well more than 2 weeks but I had to stop because I was sick), finding it easier than I expected.
I’m fasting to lose weight, better enjoy my kids and take pressure off my feet, which have a lot of problems unrelated to weight.
SW: 262, CW: 255, GW: 160, 37F and 5’5”. my birthday is 12/16 and I’m hoping to be 10# down as a present to myself.
This sub is really really inspiring. Thanks for being here, y’all!
So I had a depression episode over the summer/fall and fell off the wagon, hard. Sugar all the time. Started eating breakfast again because I was starving when I woke up because I had gotten back on the excessive carb blood sugar roller coaster.
I gained weight (so in other words my flair is not current… have been too afraid to get on the scale to find out how much…), bloated, stomach upset, pretty much miserable. Can’t do it anymore. I had a four day streak of gastro problems last week and reached my breaking point with the abuse I’m putting my body through.
My psychiatrist recently upped the dose on my medication so I’m hopeful that this will help me overcome the emotional eating. Depression should be managed with medication and therapy, not food.
Anyway, hiii. Gonna start back up with 16:8 and low carb. Basically just gonna cut out the breakfast bullshit.
Wish me luck this time that it’s sustainable.
Hey, I’m new here. Was just telling a friend that I like to eat my last meal of the day before 5p, and be done until sometime between 7-9 the next day. She suggested I look into IF, so here I am. I’m not doing it to lose weight, but rather to maintain. I noticed I’m more likely to graze in the evening after I have already eaten enough, and decided I’d just make a habit of brushing my teeth around 5-5:30p so i wouldn’t be tempted to keep grazing. It’s worked well for me for over a year.
I’m also very active and run and walk a lot every day, so i find it natural to fuel my body during the hours I am active, but not when I am at rest / relaxing. Anyway, I am looking forward to learning about other’s experiences with this kind of eating pattern on here!
