Day 6 of Omad

I am 18 hours in and about to eat. My fast was sort of force-broken because I tutor someone for charity and the cafe we met at put something sweet in my tea. Oh well. I am about to eat a chicken cutlet sub, a cucumber, an apple and if I have any appetite left, I will dig into the fries. Not the healthiest, I know, but it’s all under 1500 and then I worked out hard today.

Why: Trying to fight what I suspect to be insulin resistance. Trying to lose 30-50 lbs. Trying to lower the mental energy I devote to food every day.

How it’s going: It is day 6 and I have been far from perfect, but I am pretty damn impressed with myself, not going to lie. I kept to one meal a day pretty much every day, but went over my calorie lit by ~700 when I devoted my one meal to going out for the night with a friend.

It’s interesting what a snowball effect there is. I have been working out a lot this week, as well. No weight loss yet, but I am debloated a lot (my clothes fit much better) and my gastritis symptoms are ebbing.

Day7 of Week19, IF, 18/6

SW: 104kg/229lbs; CW: 89kg/196lbs; GW: 85kg/187lbs

Today’s measurement was 88,8kg which is alright for being the first measurement after reentry meals coming off the 48h fast. Present empty weight was 87,7kg.

Friday was utter chaos and produced post stress low energy state, plus a pang of depression. On the positive side, I’m pretty happy about that despite all that I kept pretty much the same empty weight instead of falling into a binge.

Obviously I cannot seem to move the scale down without burning more calories as long as the allergy season is here. Eating less than my usual calorie intake would not be healthy, and it would run the risk of triggering a binge so I’m not doing that.

Instead I’m planning on doing alternate day fasting for the next week just to test if it can give the weight loss a bit of a bump.

Recharge and plan the next week good folk of IF Crew.

Day 9 36f 202lb 16:8 + 1 hr daily exercise

I fell off the wagon a bit yesterday 😔. It was so stupid, I’m 16:8 @ 12-8pm for eating hours. That is lunch and dinner.

My sweet kiddos are not on a diet though, and I was making them breakfast, and like all good cooks, tasted the food I was making.

Which was pancakes. Of which I ate half of 1 without even thinking while cooking. At 830 am. 😭

For the past 7 days I’ve had nothing but coffee (black) and water in the morning and it felt awful to mess that up. Like I broke a promise to myself.

But I was back on the wagon today! I’ve only lost 2lb in 9 days so far.

My waist (38 in) hasn’t budged but strangely I’ve lost 3 in on my waist (from 47 –> 44). Maybe because all I’ve been doing is walking for an hour a day?

Considering it’s going to rain all week, any ideas for work outs I can do for free at home?

Answer

Type of fast: Water and teaContext - Yesterday was my rest day from fasting and today I’m back at it. I’m 15 and a half hours into my fast and I feel great. I drank green tea for breakfast and I’m drinking another cup again while working. I’ll be breaking my fast at 2:30pm. Last week was a great week, I stuck to my plan for the whole week so I’m looking forward to another week of fasting again.

Why? I am fasting because I want to be healthy. I don’t want to develop this habit of always eating and I want to cut down on my sweets intake. I hope through fasting I’ll be able to do this.

Notes - I’m not consistently exercising and that’s okay. Right now I want to make sure I stick with my fasting regimen.
