Answer

  1. Intermittent fasting 16:8 (I’m a newbie) - I’m allowed water during the fast window
  2. Started at midnight (but haven’t eaten since 18:00 yesterday), my food window is 10:00-18:00 today
  3. I’m trying to manage and reduce emotional eating and also reset dopamine receptors, think they’re fried. I’m also trying to lose around 14lb
  4. Usually I’m fine but I have cravings this morning for sugary food - I’m definitely not hungry though so will surf through the urge

Have a great day, everyone!

I re-started IF on Jan 7, so it’s now been 2 months of daily clean 16:8 (sometimes longer). As of this morning, I’m down 24.2 lbs and have 12.2 to go to my first GW of 165. I’ve got a half hour left until my eating window opens, but today I’m going to go for a short 2.5 mi hike in the woods first. After doing that and getting a shower, I’ll probably be pushing 18-19 hours fasting. I will still begin fasting at the usual 4pm, so just a shorter eating window today.

I started IF about a week and a half ago and although I’ve only lost 5 lbs I have not eaten past 7:00PM for the entire time! That is a HUGE accomplishment for me. I have ate late at night every night for years - it was such an ingrained habit of mine. Last night my SO had some snacks at around 10PM and I wasn’t even tempted, I just said ‘nope I’m good!’ when asked if I wanted some.

I think you guys call those NSVs? If so, big time NSV for me!

Adf day 23 (eating day) down 3.3kg so far. I definitely feel like my appetite has gone down/maybe my stomach shrunk? Can’t finish big portions I used to eat in one sitting anymore. And I generally feel satisfied with 1500 - 1600 calories. Currently trying out different protein bars to try and find a replacement for snickers etc. the problem is they’re really expensive like one protein bar costs as much as 6 snickers…. My go to sweet snack ATM is frozen bananas + cocoa powder + milk to replace my fav McDonald’s chocolate milkshake lmao

Started with 2:4/OMAD back on Feb 3 then switched to ADF Feb 15th with a 40-42 hour alternate fast. Hit a bit of a plateau the last 2 cycles so decided to eat 3 meals yesterday as my body just felt “empty” and got sick of the ketone breath. Feel great overall, no bloat. Today is a fasting day so we’ll see if the day off shakes lose the plateau. Original goal was 188 by April 15th as I’m going on a cruise and know I will need a few buffer lbs. Doesn’t look like I’ll make that goal, but I suspect my real issue is being too “all or nothing” in my mindset, something I need to work through. Really appreciate the community here as it is very helpful for motivation, especially seeing those of you with progress pics showing that you’re killing it.

Currently doing 18:6 with a couple of days OMAD purely due to work schedule. Drink a lot of water and black coffee during the day. Meals consisting of a protein shake/smoothie and salad when I break fast and usually half a plate of veggies and meat for dinner.

This is my fourth week of fasting. It’s been going well so far. I’m doing this to kick bad habits. I realize I’ve been too comfortable snacking/over eating. Even though I’ve always prioritized eating “good food” for meals, I have always taken in empty calories/random snacks and have had large portions.

Fasting window is typically 8:00 PM - 2:00 PM. For the days when I OMAD I just eat when I get home (usually around 7:00).

Hoping to make this a lifelong change. Not looking to drop weight overnight, but rather build a consistent healthy relationship with food and how I eat.

So far it’s going well. I was feeling like I wasn’t losing much last week. Was down about 8lbs in 3 weeks, but have since dropped another 6lbs. Overall, I have to listen to what I said above and understand the weight won’t come off as fast as I may expect, but I know IF is helping me. I feel better and see it in many other ways such as my skin clearing up and having more energy.

Update after one week of 3x42 ADF: I lost 2.2 pounds, breaking through my prior 3-week stall! This loss included some sweets and alcohol, so I can only imagine how much better it would have been had I eaten exclusively whole foods and didn’t drink at all in that week.

I did find, however, that on my fasting days I became obsessed with food. I hate that feeling and it was really distracting, so I will return to 23:1 OMAD (which was working for me before my stall / plateau) and throw in a single 42:6 each week.

Updated stats: SW 165, CW 153.8, GW 130

Summary so far: I’ve lost 11.2 pounds in 7 weeks, which is an average of 1.6 pounds per week
