Answer

I have a goal to lose 50lbs, no set date but would estimated late August.

I started January 9 with 20:4 and I’m still going strong, consistently solid except a single day at 16:8. Eating around 1,600 calories/day tracked.

SW: 225 CW: 211.4 GW: 175.

13.6lbs down so far. Past the 25% mark and 4 pounds ahead of “schedule” according to CICO estimates.

Answer

Entering week 3 of 16:8 fasting. 31F, 5’6”, CW 143 GW 125-130. Working out 5x week (45 min running/cycling weekdays and a long hike or bike ride on the weekends) and have started incorporating strength work again.

No weight loss and I’m really discouraged. Starving this morning too which isn’t helping. I really feel like my calories must have gone down (eliminated breakfast and most afternoon snacking) but here I am, no movement after 2 full weeks. Not “dirty fasting” during my fasting window either - just black coffee, tea, and water with lemon. Was hoping IF could eliminate the need for CICO because I find I get SUPER fixated on food when counting calories, where all of a sudden it’s all I can think about. Really, REALLY don’t want to have to calorie count.

On the plus side, have resumed morning workouts. Feel like I’m sleeping better. Bowel movements seem to have sorted themselves out after being pretty stopped up the first week. Small wins?

Answer

Day 28 of OMAD. 12 pounds down so far. Just 16 more pounds to my goal weight. I’m feeling good, always hungry 3-4 hours before I break my fast but learning to control it. Everytime I step on the scale it motivates me even more.

Answer

Getting the hang of fasting, started with 18:6 in Jan with some hiccups… then slowly transitioned to OMAD past two weeks. Have remained consistent and now seeing some progress. Down 6lbs. Also pretty hungry 3-4 hours before my 6ish pm meal time, but just using tea and water to help curb hunger pangs. Also, working from home so pretty sedentary. Would like to add some daily walks once the weather is a little less wintry. Have over 100 lbs to lose so just trying to stay the course and be consistent for the long haul

Newbie question

Im currently doing the 16/8 and eating between 10-6

I like working out in the morning, usually weights and cardio, but I don’t know if I’m waiting to long to eat. I usually start around 7:00 or 7:30 and get done around 8:30 or 9.

Is waiting an hour, after I worked out fasted, too long and could it be burning muscle?

I also like to take a walk at night (maybe a couple miles) after my last meal.

Is that walk (a couple hours into my fast) causing any damage? My old school nutrition mentality tells me I should be eating after that night “workout “
