More than two weeks in. I’ve taken a few days off here and there but mostly have stuck to a 16:8 “dirty” fast which for me just means I’m allowing myself artificial sweeteners here and there during my fast. I completed a 20 hour fast on Saturday, mainly to see if I could do it. Surprised that it was pretty easy since I was busy outside most of the day. It seems so much harder when I’m sitting at my desk counting the hours till I can eat.

I’m 5’2’’ 140 lbs and hoping to get to 120. No real weight loss yet.

35mins away from finishing my second full 24 hour fast. Started IF in November began 16:8 and switched to 18:6 and intending to stay around that range. Always had a pretty bad relationship with food but its getting better so having now almost done two full 24 hour fasts in massive for me. Stomachs growling but some water or green tea should solve that so might go a little past the 24 hours.

If I don’t I don’t, I’ll have already done something massive for me. Down 32ish kg since November.

Edit; 27 hours. Quite happy with that.

Answer

Doing a 20 hour fast. Only water / green tea. Aiming to lose 7 kg weight over the next few weeks. Today is the second day doing the 20 hour fast and have found it challenging today to focus on work. 20 mins away and powering through!

Answer

I’m on day 2 of consistent IF. Obviously 2 days isn’t consistent yet, but I’m going to try to stick with it every day. I had previously been doing 2-3 days a week of 16:8 fasts. Also cutting out alcohol and doing low carb. Trying to lose 30-40 lbs total this year, but I have an event at the end of April and would like to make some progress before then.

Answer

Type: Water/Powder Propel/Coffee

Context: Week three of 20:4; first day doing a 24 hour fast!

Length: Today, until 4 pm; in general indefinitely.

Why?: To control my wild eating addiction and lose pounds to a healthy weight.

Notes: This 24 hour fast was inadvertent but I actually feel really good so this kind of feels like I slipped into the pool but knew how to swim, lol. Boyfriend was starving while we were out so I broke my 20:4 three hours early and decided I would simply fast until my usual window. For a meal that wasn’t that good for me (But delicious, mm Five Guys) I’m feeling super full. Making sure the water intake remains consistent and I’ve got my electrolytes and sodium mix in there. Half the day’s out at work! Happy monday..!

Answer

Water, 16/8, Weight loss.
SW: 255, CW:247.
Going strong, had a few days of slow/no/reverse progress, but I’m back on track and I’m again the lightest I’ve been in months. What I found was that I was still eating too much and was too sedentary. I found myself still eating large enough snacks during my window that I may as well have been eating 3 meals a day. I also wasn’t finding any time to hit the gym, or do anything really physical. But I cat back and got active and I’m back on track.
8lbs down defiantly feels like a tangible change on the scale. Before, I was worried that it was all water weight, or that I was just at the low end of a weight fluxuation. But 8lbs is undeniable progress. I’m excited for more.

Answer

Getting back to “proper” fasting, I’ve only been doing around 14-15 hours and eating too much rubbish in my eating window. My ideal is 18-20 hours and no beige carbs or sugars

Today I have an easy opportunity to skip dinner as hubby is out, and we eat separately from the kids, so if I can muster the will I’ll be running through from dinner yesterday to lunch tomorrow - around 40+ hours - to kickstart things.

I’m baking for my kids birthday party this week so it’s a real challenge not to do my usual and lick the beaters and scrape the bowl! (I’ll IF over the birthday/party days but relax my sugars and starchy carbs rule)

Allowing lemon juice and apple cider vinegar in my water, and plenty of black coffee.

Edit: 158cm, 63kg, aiming for 58kg initially. Dropped from 64kg to 55kg before lockdown 1 but gained it all back due to mucked up life and bad/stress driven food choices, but I know it’s a realistic goal because I’ve done it before.

I’m new (again) to IF and I’m in the middle of my first 16/8 water/coffee fast right now. I’m doing it for weight loss (I have 100lbs to lose) and I’m feeling motivated. I just re-downloaded Zero and MFP and I’m here. I can do this.

Answer

Working my way up to 20 hour fasting with a 4 hour eating window. So far I can manage 18 hours pretty well but anything beyond that becomes a challenge. I’m mostly using intermittent fasting to ensure I have calories for dinner- I was falling into a bad snacking habit during the day. I’ve also given myself a 250 cal limit on “snacks” (anything outside of a set mealtime) and that seems to be helping with mindset formation.

Answer

I started fasting today. Going to do 16:8.

Woke up starving but drank a lot of water and made it to my window without any problems.

My goal is to lose 110 pounds. I’m trying to start slowly so I’m doing the fast and cutting out fast food/sugary drinks. I don’t drink much more than water at home but I’ll have sweet tea if I eat out.

I’m feeling pretty good today, hoping that mood continues tomorrow.
