If doing something like 8 hour eating window, 16 off, are the benefits from the abstaining itself? Or the consistency of the abstinence?

Put another way, If one day I eat from 6pm to 2 am, am I undoing any benefits by say, one day a week, changing that from 6 am to 2 pm? I hope this makes sense. Just in the exploratory stages rn re types and length and context.

I have been at it for a week now. Broke 1 Fast on Saturday because I had a Spartan DEKA event early in the morning and wanted some “fuel for the fight”. Even then it was a small breakfast sandwich (2 eggs, toast, and 2 pieces of chicken sausage) and I didnt eat again till after 2. My Window is 2-10. Sunday I was back on the IF train and have stayed on since.

I fasted for 23 hours. And what I broke my fast with wasn’t very appetizing and now I’m depressed. I hate fasting for such a period and then eating a less than delicious meal.

I haven’t lost any weight this week and I chalked it up to eating carbs/possibly too many calories in my one meal. So tonight I cut out carbs. Had bunless bacon cheese burgers and a couple fried eggs. I don’t understand how something as simple and plain as bread can just elevate other food by so much.

Sorry I just needed a void to scream into.

Today is 48 hours of my 72 hour fast…And I am so annoyed that I am not hungry. My stomach will randomly rumble. But it isn’t the hunger feeling.

I guess people were right about drinking a lot of water…

I’m annoyed because I was 16:8 on weekends and 18:6 during the week. Started weight training since November (had stopped because I was afraid of corona gyms and was just walking for an hour most days). Gained weight with moving, work stress, and just overall disappointed with life in last month.

Saw myself in the security cameras and was like …. I don’t like that. So I said, you know what, I’m going to try fasting longer because fasting has been the best tool to keep my weight down.

And now I don’t feel hungry or faint and I’m just asking myself… Do I eat that much?!
