Answer

I’m 19 hours into my fast, and I have two choices:

1 quickly prepare my meal or

2 continue to fast.

It will be option 2 today. Saying goodbye to my fridge. See you tomorrow, my friend!

40+hours

Water, tea, and electrolytes.

To give my tummy a rest.

Wish me luck!

Water fast

OMAD - 5-8:30 eating window

2 days a week, I am able to break my fast around noon.

Hoping to cut some holiday pounds and have more energy

It’s going pretty well so far and I’d say hunger pains are minimal. The strongest hunger I feel is when I’m stressed which I’m sure the sudden desire for comfort food is my body’s response. Honestly I just miss almond milk in my coffee but I know my body reacts a lot better to zero calories during my fasting periods.

Been doing 16/8 since the 3rd, honestly breezing through it and already down 18lbs. But I got a bit of a head cold, and woke up starving and cranky, so I broke this morning with a bagel. I’ll get back on though! One step back doesn’t mean it’s over! Just a bad day!

Answer

Day six of 16/8.

Still feel amazing. I have not been hungry a single time.

I’m going to do a 30minute peloton ride shortly. I did a light effort of 40 minutes on Tuesday, today, going a little harder with a more normal ride. Admittedly I had a vegan chocolate chip cookie yesterday. My meals have been pretty healthy, not processed or refined, other than a pita I had yesterday (with hummus, rice, and chicken). I have not counted any calories but have been keeping a rough estimate in my head.

Big test for me will be this weekend. I am going on a snowboard trip with a crew of friends and our kids and the lifts start spinning at 8:30am, and we will be in line early. Hoping my body has adjusted enough to pop a Cliff Builder Bar out at 11am every day and feel ok, and follow it up with some lunch. Lots of water at altitude as always will be key.

39 days to go when I attend another snowboard gathering in the high sierras. and I need to feel better, more comfortable. That’s what I am committed to try, but if this continues, I dont know if I will ever eat breakfast again except on special occassions. Just dont see a reason for it.

Hope everyone has a great day.
