2 weeks to the day for me. 20h and Omad back and forth. About 4lbs down. It’s really hard to see slow progress but better than no progress when you know you gained almost 40lbs in 10 years of marriage.
Day 1! Doing 14:10, I forgot I was doing this so when I made my salad for lunch I may have had a bite or two of some veggies BUT I didn’t want to give myself an excuse to start tomorrow so I forgot about those two bites 😅 Hoping to lose weight I’ve added since getting sober. Just started a calorie deficit and need a little structure to do so, enter IF. Excited to be here!
Currently going on a water fast, for 23 hours. Just started fasting.
I’ve been on OMAD for a while now, and it has been very beneficial for me. I’ve been able to shed off approx. 20 pounds and I’ve never felt better.I’m slightly concerned if I’m losing weight too fast – I know I’m getting my caloric intake in for sure but so far everything seems to be going well!SW: 338.8lbs CW: 316.4lbs GW: 190lbs
Made it to 18 hrs. today! I’ve been doing 15-16 for the past few weeks, but it has been hard to get past 16. I think it’s getting easier because 18 today seemed like no big deal, and I’m feeling great.
Week 3 of 16:8: I hit a bit of a snafu. I started eating a little bit over my calorie goal for a couple of days and fluctuated on the scale. I’m sure its just water weight but I am still antsy about it 😅
I’m doing ADF, been doing it since the new year. Looking to lose weight but also for the insulin/health benefits since those run in my family. It’s been embarrassingly easy, even with three times a week weight lifting, fat is coming off while still finding gains in the gym.
The reason I’m checking in is because tonight I said I’d go with a group of friends from a walking group for a Burns night walk in Glasgow, but just found out on the way there that it’s actually going to be a pub night, poetry reading and all. So I don’t know if I’ll have the strength just get pints of water. Plus drink on a very empty stomach would probably give digestion problems and very quick intoxication so not what I’m looking for on a Tuesday.
But the social pressure! Ahhh
Day 2 of 16:8. 36 F, SW 231 CW 227 GW 150 So far so good! Down 4 lbs, I couldn’t help it I had to check my weight. Feeling motivated, planning a workout tomorrow morning. I’m interested to see how I feel during a workout on an empty stomach.
14:10 loosely sometimes 16:8 depending on the work day. Down from 220-202 started about a month ago. Eating crackers and cheese squares at work for lunch has been helping a lot! A lot of people say I’m starving myself then I tell them how I did a 72 hour water fast and they couldn’t believe it lol. When I get home I eat as much as I want food wise as long as it’s within my 2000 calorie budget
Hey everyone! I’m currently on a 3 day juice fast. I’m 20 hours in. I have been re-losing the same 4lbs for 5 months and I’m tired of it. I’m fasting to jump start my weight loss. At the moment, I want to eat. I know that this is tied to myemotions. I feel a lot of shifts occurring in mymindset and am in need of a bit of grounding. My normal go to grounding activity is eating. So, I’m trying to redirect my energy.
TLDR: 3 day water, exercise yes/no/when, alcohol after veggie smoothie then sushi to break fast. Yes/no/what type of alcohol? Thanks!! :)
Just started first day of a planned 3 day water fast to kind of “reset” among other reasons I’ll list. This is my 3rd or fourth water fast, not counting (2) three day juice fastings including some protein.
So the plan is to get through until Thursday night when I have a date night and we have a huge celebration this week so I want SUSHI! (And probs sake… that’s another whole question lol) Anyhoo, I did plan on doing a veggie smoothie a few hours before sushi to get my digestion started.
Once I get to Friday I plan on starting 18/6 probably 2pm to 8pm bc I can’t sleep with an empty stomach. Anyone else…?
So my reasons are to help jumpstart at least mentally getting the pure crap I’ve been eating out of my body and just giving my body a chance to get back into correctly doing it’s thing… I’m trying to build lean muscle at age 51 so I hope this will help that along with a few other tricks up my sleeve (mostly just creatine and BCAAs lol). I would never mind if I got some HGH production going too…
Does anyone have any thoughts on how my 3-day could help build muscle, or will there be loss of muscle tissue…? For my last meal I went harrrrrrrd on the protein after a great workout. Also can/should I exercise during this?
And as far as my celebration on Thursday goes, we’ve never done sushi without sake and I plan to be in party mode., so it won’t stop there. There’s no getting around the necessity of that! 🥳😀
If I was going to drink alcohol that night (let’s be honest,in a large amount haha), what’s the best choice?

Alternating between 16:8 and 18:6 since the new year! Hoping to lose some extra holiday weight and then some. Going really well so far, the last hour or two is tough but I can usually stick it out either by reading, exercising, or working.
I’m doing 23/1 fasting, OMAD. First day, last week I did Omad and loved it but fell off the wagon. I lost 2 kgs last week but probably gained it all back.
Going to stick to OMAD for now and I’m excited. SW: 89 kg CW: 89 GW: 80 (as a first milestone)
