Type: 20:4 coffee and water
Context: About two years in. I’ve tried all styles from 16:8 to 36 hour fasts with plenty of times when I stopped fasting.
Length of fast: Today is a non-fasting day because I couldn’t do it today. I ate to feel good.
Why?: I’ve always been about 20 kg overweight with a spare tyre. I wanted to go from 105 to 85kg. I’m at 90kg now. I like that I understand hunger and food better.
Notes: I did 20:4 for the last few days, which was going great. Today was emotional so I decided to eat oats. I would normally eat sugary treats so I’m glad I avoided that.
Type - water
Context - morning fast ends at 12pm EST
Length - 16:8 sometimes 17:7 depending on when I finish making lunch
Why? - I want a flat stomach. I know it may be vain, but I really want to be able to wear a button up dress shirt and tuck it in without seeing a bump.
Notes - I started about 2 months ago and have gone from 76Kg to 73.1Kg as of this morning. It’s going well considering I haven’t specifically limited myself on anything (other than an already fairly healthy Vegan diet) and I haven’t been actively exercising. I think adding exercise would really boost my results but I don’t feel safe/comfortable going back to a public gym. If you found any videos/apps that you use for home based workouts, let me know!
First day post 🥳
-Type- water/tea.
-context- nearing the end of my “eating” period
-why? Lose weight, blood sugar, inflammation
-notes- excited to start my first fast today!! I’ve tried in the past but did it super sporadically but I want to try to stick with it this time. I’m eating from 7:45-3:45, and then a 16 hr fast.
Wish me luck!
First time poster here!
Type: water
Context: a few days into IF
Length: 16:8
Why?: I want to reduce inflammation, lose weight, and specifically lose visceral fat.
Notes: I’ve been IF since Sunday, I’m feeling really good. I’m not doing any extra exercise or counting my calories a ton, I’m just trying to get fasting down before I add those components. So far it’s been easier than I thought, especially if I eat enough during my eating period. I’m very curious to see how I feel during the week of my period, I feel like that might be the time I struggle the most.
Type: coffee and weed fast
Context: 13 hours into 36 hour fast.
Length: 36 hours
Why: fasting drastically decreases the amount of exercise I need to maintain body weight. I am at my happy place ~10% body fat. One or two 24-36 hour fasts keeps me at this weight with the 2-4 hours of exercise I get each week.
Notes: fasting while home all day is far more difficult than fasting at work all day.
